I have always wanted to have a pomeranian as a pet. I thought the fluffier the pooch the better. And whenever I would see a picture of one, I wanted to reach into the image and bring its little body back into my arms.
My prayers were finally answered when one fateful evening, my grandmother sent me a picture of a week or so old Pom. It's been a year since she's come home to my family and I and we love her to pieces.
No matter who you are, everyone needs to know what it's like to have a four-legged ball of fur in their life.
1. The floof
Look at that fur!
2. They just get cuter with age
Cute then and even cuter now.
3. They look like they're smiling
When a Pom is very excited and starts to pant, they look like they're smiling and having the best time of their life.
4. Those EYES!
Big and brown and begging. A definite danger when food is around.
5. They're full of personality
I have never met a dog with more sass than Margo.
6. KISSES!
Especially in the mornings when she hasn't seen anyone in hours even though she sleeps in my parents' bed.
7. They can walk on their back legs like a small, furry human
They have surprisingly good balance on their hind legs, which I've learned is one of their traits.
8. They're incredibly smart
Margo learned to roll over in about three days. With help from some tasty motivation, of course.
9. They're silly
She was very fond of her first balloon.
10. Lots of naps (and therefore snuggles)
Though it doesn't happen too often now, when she was a pup I got lots of sleepy cuddles.
11. Unconditional love
This last one is a given with any dog, big or small. And the best part about having a four-legged companion.
