6 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Growing up, a person will make dozens of friends. As they grow older, they realize who their best friends really are. These best friends truly make life worth living. They are someone you can laugh with, cry with, and cry from laughing so hard with. They are there for us when we need them the most and give us the best experiences. At the end of the day, we need to thank our best friends for all the things they do for us.

1. Thank you for being completely honest with me, even when I didn’t want you to be.

Seriously, thank you. It’s not easy to hear the truth when you don’t want to hear it. Hearing it from you makes it so more easier and bearable to hear. Being honest is what friendship is about and your honesty is very appreciated.

2. Thank you for being just as weird as me.

Not many people are as weird as I am. I’m glad I can be myself around you and you can be yourself around me. Very often, people have to hide their true selves around other people because they fear judgement, especially in public. But with you, we can be weird in public together and not have a care in the world what people think.

3. Thank you for picking me up when I’m down.

You always know how to put me in a better mood when I’m feeling down. You always know exactly what to say to make me feel better and I simply cannot thank you enough. You are always there for me when I need it. You know when something is bothering me and instantly know how to make me feel better with a blink of an eye.

4. Thank you for believing in me and encouraging me.

I’m glad you are always there to give me a push when I need it. I’m glad you have my best interest at hand and want me to succeed in everything I do. Your words of encouragement always help me build back up the courage and continue to try.

5. Thank you for all the memories we share.

I love all the memories we have made so far in our friendship. I cannot wait to make so many more with you. Life would not be fun without you as my best friend. Without you, I wouldn’t have so many memories to look back on when I get older. I mean, without them, what are we supposed to tell our future kids about all the weird adventures we had together.

But most importantly:

6. Thank you for being a true friend through everything.

A lot of friendships drift apart when both people go to college, but I am so grateful that our friendship was not like one of those. I love that our bond is stronger than ever. Even though we may not end speak every day like we used to, every time we speak, it’s like nothing has changed. Even times when we disagree on some topics, you never leave my side and are always there for me.

Urban Dictionary defines a best friend as: “A very special people in your life. They are the first people you think about when you make plans. They are the first people you go to when you need someone to talk to. You will phone them up just to talk about nothing, or the most important things in your life.

When you’re sad they will try their hardest to cheer you up. They give the best hugs in the world! They are the shoulder to cry on, because you know that they truly care about you. In most cases they would take a bullet for you, coz it would be too painful to watch you get hurt.”

And that is exactly what you are to me. Thank you for being such an amazing friend. I love you!

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
