Reasons To Live Because Suicide Is A Permanent Solution To A Temporary Problem

Recently around my campus, there has been a lot of clubs starting to revolve around mental health. People are starting to realize that mental health is important. That people have depression and that fixing it is more than just taking a pill or talking to a therapist. So to the girl or boy that is sitting in their room right now contemplating death.

Trust me when I say this. It is not worth it.

When you end your life you are touching people who you do not even think care about you. Your life is full of people who care about you and no matter what people say you are important and people do care about you. So here is what I am asking you to do. Every day, write five reasons why you should live. Here are just some of the reasons that I could think of.

1. To see the people that your friends become.
2. To grow and learn about the world around you.
3. To say no matter how hard things are that you made it.
4. To watch the stars twinkle in the sky on a dark summer night.
5. To feel the breeze hit you as you are staring at the ocean crashing on the beach.
6. To feel the excitement of walking into a Disney Park.
7. To watch your sibling graduate and get married.
8. To be able to walk across the stage at whatever graduation you have and grab your diploma and smile.
9. To be successful and do all the amazing things you want to do with your life.
10. To run that race that you never thought you would be able to do.
11. To visit that country that you always dreamed of.
12. To create more dreams.
13. To share your story and let people know of your struggles and remind them that they will be okay.
14. To go skydiving.
15. To get the dream job that you want. Whether you want to be a Doctor, Lawyer, Accountant, Athlete or anything else.
16. To fall in love.
17. To get married.
18. To start a family.

And if you do not want to fall in love and start a family then...

19. To go out and conquer the world on your own terms without anyone else.
20. To see the sunrise or set over your favorite place.
21. To see the light in your friends eyes when you tell a joke.
22. To hear your favorite artist release a new song.
23. To finish that TV show you have been binging on Netflix.
24. To see the first snow of every year.
25. To dance in the rain.
26. To get new clothes.
27. To watch vines.
28. To go on the spontaneous adventures that you have always wanted.
29. To smell the smell of smog in your favorite city in the early morning.
30. To love.
31. To smell the scent of Hershey park on a breezy day.
32. To see the sights of LA beaches as the sunsets on the end of a beautiful day.
33. To pet more dogs (and cats).
34. To conquer your fears.
35. To prove all your doubters wrong.
36. To be the best you can be.
37. To cuddle under a warm blanket on a cold day.
38. To stand on a sandy beach and scrunch your toes.
39. To live the life you have.
40. To help be the cure of cancer or a disease.
41. To eat ice cream.
42. To not have your family and friends miss you.
43. To start a new page in your book.
44. To hear the bells of laughter on a hot summer day.
45. To drink a hot coffee on a cold day.
46. To know that things will get better.
47. To realize that life can change...Death is absolute.
48. To make the world a better place.
49. To survive.
50. To continue your story.
51. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

Please remember that when life gets tough that it is okay and that you should keep on living.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
