I get these questions every time I mention that I am from Pakistan: "Is the place you lived at in Pakistan safe? Were there terrorists living around that area?" And my response is always a frustrated no - this happens to me every time. Pakistan is a country that has a lot to offer way beyond terrorism, the Taliban, secular grouping and its corrupt government. This is what media has been showing you all these years, but there is a lot you are missing out on. It is a country that is ethnically diverse with lots of color, different cultures, historically significant civilizations and above all it houses one of the most welcoming people in the world.

There are few of the reasons why one should visit Pakistan:

1. Kalash

Kalash are indigenous people of Dard. They are only found in Pakistan and some regions of Indian and Afghanistan. They are culturally and religiously unique. They are polytheist and worship nature. There festivals are to die for.

2. Culture

Pakistan has numerous cultures as there are various ethnic groups in the country. You have Punjabis in the East and Sindhis in the South East. As you go North you find Pashtuns and Hazaras. This is not it. The culture differs from city to city.

3. Food

Pakistani cuisine is AMAZING. Everything smells delicious and looks beautiful. The aroma will make your stomach growl from hunger. And it's not at all like Indian food. Pakistani food is Pakistani.

4. Weddings

Pakistani weddings are so stunning and incredible that they should be on everyone's bucket list. You will never be able to get a chance to see so much color, happiness and beauty at the same time but in a Pakistani wedding.

5. K2

Pakistan also houses the 2nd highest mountain in the world. This mountain is on Pak-China border. The mountain is usually climbed from Pakistan side as the terrain is harder on China's side. This mountain is also the highest point in the Karakoram range.

6. Nankana Sahib: Sikhism

Pakistan is also the birth place of Sikhism which is one of the major religions in South East Asia. It is believed that Guru Nananak (the founder of Sikhism) was born in Pakistan. Every year thousands and thousand of Sikhs from all around the world to visit the shrine of their apostle at Nankana Sahib.

7.Northern Pakistan

Sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of Asia, Northern Pakistan is breathtakingly gorgeous.

8. Architectural master pieces

Pakistan has architectural wonders. From mosques to ancient gardens from the mughal era, all can be found in Pakistan.

Sukkar Bridge

Lahore Fort

Jehangir's (Mughal Empror) Tomb

Faisal Mosques

Pakistan Monument

9. Largest man-made forest

Pakistan holds the award to have the worlds largest man-made forest, Changa Manga. It is also one of the oldest hand-planted forest in the world.

10. Earthquake Island

After a massive earthquake in 2013 a new island came into being, just off the coast of Pakistan. It is one of the world's newest island and natures biggest master piece.

Last but not the least, the people of Pakistan are the most hospitable and welcoming people you will ever come across. I can bet on my life that there are millions of families ready to host tourists for free and open their houses for them. So, what are you waiting for? Pack your bags and head to Pakistan. It's economical, beautiful and these places are safe as well, believe me!

10 Thoughts Of A 5th Year Senior

What about those of us who don't do it all in four years?

"College will be the best four years of your life" is a phrase that we have all heard growing up. College is painted as a magical place to us while we are in high school. A place you go to learn, meet your best friends and probably have the time of your life while all of this is going down. Four whirlwind years, where everything that you've known changes and you start to learn what it means to live on your own, have a job, etc. But what about those of us who don't do this all in four years? Major changes, hard courses, switching schools, career paths changing, these are just a handful of factors that could extend your four years to five, six or seven. There is nothing wrong with taking extra time to graduate, but returning as a fifth-year is a little different. Most of your best friends have most likely graduated and moved and while you may be one of the oldest undergraduates on campus, you might feel as awkward as a freshmen. A world that became home and comfortable to you is still there but it's slightly different than you've known it to be and you have to find a groove to fall into. These are thoughts you'll have as you look ahead to returning to your college campus, with a victory lap planned.

"I don't want to do things. I want to do not things."

Aubrey Plaza is one of my favorite humans in Hollywood. She's honest, blunt, unapologetic, and hilarious. I just started my sophomore year of college, and found that some of her best moments can accurately describe the start of the school year.

1. When your advisor tells you that you should declare a major soon.

2. Seeing the lost and confused freshmen and remembering that was you a short year ago, and now being grateful you know the ins and outs of the campus.

3. Going to the involvement fair to sign up for more clubs knowing that you are already too involved.

4. When you actually do the reading required for the first class.

5. Seeing your friends for the first time since last semester.

6. When you're already drowning in homework during syllabus week.

7. Realizing you don't have the same excitement for classes as you did as a freshman.

8. Going home and seeing people from high school gets weirder the older you get.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.
