For me, rain is always a sign of goodness. The day it began to look stormy on campus, I had a great audition for the spring theatre show, I finished a paper a lot sooner than I expected, and the "Take Five" in Bowman even had different flavors of applesauce for breakfast. My spirits are always lifted when I hear rain patter on the roof and the warmth of a blanket has never felt so refreshing. It has been a fantastic few days for me, but for many others, it is a frustrating time of wringing out umbrellas and arriving at class with shoes full of water. If you love the rain as much as I do, then you will probably recognize these feelings.
1. Splashing in puddles.
Yes, I do it. There's nothing quite like the feeling of jumping into something like a little kid.
2. It goes well with music.
I'll admit that when it's not raining, I usually play a clip from online with rain in it to accompany my music. Who can resist?
3. Thunder and lightning.
I love sitting by a window and watching those bright flashes and feeling the rumble of thunder in my chest. It's frightening, exhilarating, and fascinating.
4. Getting caught in a storm. No umbrella? No problem. Sometimes we are just meant to get caught in the rain to experience the pure joy of standing in the middle of a storm. Plus, if you're with a significant other, it can be incredibly romantic.
5. It's like seeing the world start over.
The world has taken a fresh shower and feels awake and refreshed. Whenever I see it happening, I feel refreshed myself.
6. Afterwards, it looks just beautiful.
To me, after the rain flowers and trees look like they've taken a breath of fresh air. Everything seems to be brighter and the mist left behind makes everything look cinematic.
7. It ends with a rainbow.
Life looks brighter after the storm has passed.
