Reasons to Object to Kaepernick's Protest

There aren't any. Really. Even ask our vets.

There is not a single reason to object to Kaepernick's protest. It was peaceful. It did not physically or mentally harm anyone.

What really gets me though, is that so many people are throwing the members of the armed forces into the mix and saying "but look what they do for us! You're disrespecting them!" He didn't disrespect our troops. To make that point clear, here is a collection of posts that veterans have made in regards to Kaepernick's protest.

1.

Let's start this collection off with someone who appears to be PROUD of Kaepernick for his peaceful protest. The reason Kaepernick protested is that our nation is not as great as it could be and he believes that it has the capability of being that great. We should, instead of hating him for his protest, be trying to turn our nation into the great nation it should be.

2.

This post makes a GREAT point. It is, as American citizens, our first amendment right to protest peacefully. It is Kaepernick's right just as much as it is anyone else's. If the people with their fifty signs marching back and forth yelling at women going into Planned Parenthood are okay with their protest, so is Kaepernick.

3.

This one is so important for people to see. Our troops serve to protect our freedoms. They serve to protect our right to free speech (which is what allows so many to trash talk Kaepernick) AND our right to protest which is what Kaepernick was exercising. I really don't understand why it's that big of a deal.

4.

This post, in what I would guess is a response to everyone burning their Kaepernick jerseys, is spot on. So many people have a problem with the police brutality issue our nation faces (yes it's an actual thing, but another topic on its own). This veteran happens to be on Kaepernick's side.

I've seen so many great posts by veterans calling people out for using our troops as an excuse to bash Kaepernick, but our troops fought for his right to protest and even if they don't agree with what he's protesting about, they agree that it IS his right.

So honestly, it's time we all just took a chill pill about it and look at what he was protesting about instead of trash talking him for protesting.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.
