7 Reasons Why You Are Not A Morning Person

If you are a person who loves mornings, this post is not for you. If you are a person who hates mornings, you are at the right place! If you are unsure where you fall, check out this list. Here are seven ways to tell if you are not a morning person.

1. The sound of your alarm makes you want to cry.

If you hate mornings, you probably dread the sound of your alarm. You might have set multiple alarms and tried to sleep through each one. If you have a roommate, or significant other, they probably also hate your alarm.

2. Talking to anyone before noon seems impossible.

Having to wake up in the morning is a difficult task. When people talk to you in the morning you have to smile through it, even if you want to snap. I'm sorry in advance to all of my friends and family, mornings are not my thing.

3. You struggle with getting ready.

You feel lucky enough to be wearing pants. If you can wake up early enough to brush your hair, teeth, wash your face, and get dressed, you have succeeded. You wonder how people get up early enough to pick out the perfect outfit, style their hair, or put on make up. The statement,"I woke up like this" means something completely different to you. You relate more to the girl from the ring then Beyonce.

4.) You need coffee to function.

No matter how hard you try, you haven't mastered the ability to stay awake. You must have a cup of coffee in your hand to feel normal. If you have that cup of Joe by your side, you feel complete.

5.) Your friends and family will go out of their way to get you up.

The people who care about you want you to succeed in life. The first step to succeeding is to get out of bed. However, you know and they know how hard it is to wake you up.The people around you will get creative and you will probably get cranky. My sister once sang Let It Go in my ear on the top of her lungs, it didn't work. One time my friend tried to pull me out of bed....it's because they care (I think).

6.) You question your existence.

If you hate mornings, you struggle with the motivation to wake up. You question if you really need your job to survive. If you have to go to a morning class you have to think about it's importance. When life gets this way, just think about how much money you are throwing away when you miss class. Usually if you hate mornings you will pick the classes that begin after 10:00. Its hard to analyze the Universe while being half asleep.

7.) You have to find ways to make your bed uncomfortable.

You have become best friends with your bed. You have created the perfect oasis for the most comfortable slumber as possible. You realize you have to make your bed uncomfortable or else you will never leave. I know, the sacrifice is hard.

Mornings are not for everyone and if you are like me, you have to push through. You have to create a proper sleeping schedule so you wake up refreshed. Look at diets and exercises that can keep you going throughout the day. Remember, Starbucks might be good for soul but is not good for the wallet. Keep thinking positively and you can rock your morning!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
