10 Reasons Love Isn't Worth Your Time
http://www.rawstory.com/

I've got nothing, I will always think love is worth it, no matter how broken I get.

Not what you were expecting were you? You'll find that's pretty common around me, you will get used to it. Love is a beautiful, fragile, crazy concept, but I believe no matter how low you might get, love is always worth it.

To me love is acceptance, honor, respect, everything good in humanity. That warm feeling you get when you look at that someone special, you know who I'm talking about. Love is the reason people try to be good, it brings out the best in us. It's accepting someone despite their faults, being there for them unconditionally. And it goes both ways. How could that ever not be worth it?

Love is not strictly for relationships either. It can be for many reasons. You love both your family and your significant other and your best friend. All very different types of love but they all boil down to the same thing. Who you love and why you love them does not diminish the value of it.

And this is the part of the segment where the cynical one in the back pipes up and says "but love hurts, why be hurt time and again?" Well to you I say that there is a flaw in your base assumption. Your assumption is that it is the love that hurts, but it isn't. What hurts is how we deal with it when it ends. Just like everything else love comes and goes, waxes and wanes, it takes effort to keep up for long periods of time. Unfortunately, when it does end humanity as a whole doesn't handle it too well. We become vindictive and angry, sad, and insensitive. We don't deal with the end very well, that is why we feel pain. It is not the love.

Whomever you love, keep them close. Just because something ends is not a reason to forgo the entire experience. It might be scary, you might have been hurt before, but love heals that. It's unfortunate when it ends but we move on, we find others to help us through it, then we love again.

Love makes us better people. The warmth we feel, we try to get better for the one we love. With love comes compassion and hope. People in love will change the world. Love shows us the best in someone and brings out the best in you. In our darkest moments love is the light that shines through the cracks. To feel loved feels like being truly accepted for who you are.

Call me a sap, call me naive, what do I care. When you finally find that warm, caring, feeling of acceptance you will know what I'm talking about. And it's one of the best feelings in the world. Love will always be worth it to me, no matter how many times it ends, how much I get hurt, love is not the problem. Love is an amazing feeling,

Peace my friends, keep on doing you, don't let anyone hold you back, and love a little while you're at it.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
