9 Reasons Showering Is The Most Underrated Obligatory Task We Take For Granted

I just started my day with a shower and now I can't stop thinking about how much I love doing that. Not only is showering, you know, important for personal hygiene, but it does a lot of other awesome things too. Showering helps mental health, aids to stress relief, and is just an altogether fun thing to do. Here's some reasons to love showering, if you don't already.

1. Better vocals

Please try and tell me that your vocals aren't better when you're in the bathroom. Better yet, try and tell me you don't sing in the shower. It's a fact of being human.

Playing music while I shower is one of my favorite things because I just love singing along in that type of atmosphere. It makes me feel like Emma Stone in Easy A. Plus, you could totally use the shower head as a microphone.

2. Perfect for sadness

Something that just cures my soul when I'm sad is sitting on the shower floor (while playing music, of course), feeling the water hit my back, or maybe just pretending I'm in a 80s/90s romcom. Not to mention, screaming lyrics to your favorite sad song while showering is so friggin empowering.

3. Stress relief

Honestly, focusing on the simple tasks in a shower is a great way to relieve a lot of stress. Even if it's just shampooing or conditioning my hair, washing my body, shaving, or whatever else there is to do while showering, it keeps my mind focused on that rather than some other things I might be going through.

4. Shaving

Not everyone's gonna agree with me on this one, but I find shaving my legs to be one of the most stress relieving things. I happen to do it just about every time I shower.

Afterward, I love the smooth feeling on my legs because of the lack of hair, and this is even better after I've put lotion on my legs. In a way, this makes me feel even cleaner and it is a huge part of my shower routine.

5. Clean sheets

One of the best feelings in the universe is showering, shaving your legs, then wearing shorts (... or being naked) in a bed with fresh, clean sheets. The sensation of just clean sheets on clean skin is incomparable to any other feeling.

6. Create fake arguments in your head

A lot of times while showering, if I have something bothering me, to feel better about it, I'll create a fake argument in my head. This can either be satisfying or make the problem even worse.

Sometimes, getting angry over a fake argument you made up isn't healthy, but other times, it helps you weed out the big points you would potentially make if this argument ever became real. It's also another way to pass the time while you, I don't know, shave your legs...

7. Do deep thinking

I've seen so many posts about "if you still think about it while you're showering, it still bothers you" and I wholeheartedly believe this statement to be true. Another perk of showering is that they can both help you relieve stress or think about what's on your mind more thoroughly.

Sometimes I do my best thinking in the shower and it has helped me solidify a lot of decisions or come to a certain point in terms of solving a problem.

8. Water pressure

This is definitely one of the first things I judge when I shower in a new place. If the water pressure isn't nice on my skin, I'm not going to be enjoying my shower.

9. Sick/Sore muscles

Sometimes when I'm sick or my muscles are feeling sore, taking a really hot shower is a great way to break up the tension. This is something I always love to do while I'm sick and I've never had anything but good results.

Showering is underrated. It does a lot of things for people mentally, physically, and emotionally. It's a great place to relieve stress, procrastinate work, do some critical thinking, and you know, clean yourself. Happy Hygiene!

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…
