Ever since my grandpa got into photography, I have always admired it, but never thought I'd get the chance to actually pursue it... I was wrong, and now I couldn't be happier.

Here are 9 main reasons I love photography.

1. Expresses my inner creativity.

I think best upside down.

Photography is one of the main ways I can actually express my inner creativity while pleasing others. Photography makes me feel like nothing else in the world exists. When I am looking through the lens to the model, car, flower, whatever I might be taking a picture of at the time it feels like a whole other world.

2. Making other people happy.

I have never seen someone sad while trying to take pictures of them, they are always happy. I really like being around happy people simply because it makes my job easier. If people are smiling in pictures they tend to be more relaxed which makes the photographers job a joy.

3. Enhances my artistic ability.

There is nothing I love more than being able to develop my artistic talent. I love learning and making myself be the best I can be. Taking pictures helps that because it teaches me about composition which I can then use later in college earning a graphic design major.

4: Family Name

At the end of the day, the true reason I like taking pictures is because I love tradition. Ever since my grandpa has been taking photos, it has made me look up to him. He has made me realize that one day I would like to take photos that are are well taken as the one that he takes, and spent so much time on it.

5. Gives me something to do.

Do you ever just sit there so bored during the summer waiting for your friends to get off work or someone to invite you to something? Well with photography you don't have to sit around. It is something you can do by yourself while enjoying the beautiful outdoors.

6. You get to enjoy nature while doing it.

I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE nature. Nature is so breathtaking and really the only way to capture it is to take pictures of it. Yes sometimes you are fighting with your shutter speed and aperture but at the end of day taking those 'golden hour' pictures were definitely worth fighting the sun.

7. Captures those special moments.

Recently, I have been invited to take pictures at a two-year-old's birthday party. I couldn't think of anything more precious to capture. Or taking those senior graduation picture that go on your grad announcement and sent out to all of your family everywhere.

8. Making that money.

Photography is such a great way to make some extra cash. I don't even charge a lot for my shoots just enough to cover my gas and time doing it, I just love seeing everyone smile while I snap picture of them.

9. Overall Enjoyable.

Overall the whole thing is just a really fun experience, and it helps me learn with every photoshoot I do. The shoots are always full of laughter and really expressive reactions when I tell the models what I would like them to do for this picture, such as get in the lake with your maxi dress on.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
