5 Reasons I Love Cold Weather And 5 Reasons I Despise It

My first five are pretty short and sweet.

The temperature was in the 50s all day today and while any northerners reading this might be laughing and shaking their heads because I think that's cold, it doesn't change the fact that I think that's cold. In honor of the drop in temperatures, I figured I'd list the reasons why I love cold weather and the reasons why I don't.

5 Reasons I love cold weather:

1.

2.

3.

4.

5 Reasons I hate cold weather:

1. It's so cold. Why? Why must I have to freeze my butt off half of the year? Who gave the atmosphere the right to be this way? I don't like it.

2. It's not even technically 'winter' yet and it's already in the 40s and 50s. Umm, no. I do not approve of this. Give me my 70-degree weather back. I want more than three days of it.

3. I can't escape it because I have to walk everywhere. In the cold. I have to walk to class, to meetings, to see friends. And I always show up looking like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. Not today, pal. From now on, I'll just stay under my covers, thank you very much.

4. OK, but why does cold weather = wind? Do you know what wind is good for? Nothing. All it does is make my cold bum colder and my hair look like I'm a Medusa wannabe.

5. You know how people say winter is better than summer because if you just add more layers you'll be warmer? Lies. I have gone out wearing leggings, jeans, two long-sleeve shirts, a hoodie, a wool coat, two pairs of socks (and one was a wool pair), boots, a scarf, and a wool beanie, and I'm still cold.

I. DON'T. LIKE. THE. COLD.

There you have it! Could you relate?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
