Brothers and sisters, oh my! Having siblings is pretty fun, but being the oldest is probably the best deal of it all. I having two younger brothers, have learned a lot from them. But over the years I've realized that there are several reasons to love being the oldest.
1. Watching their Personalities Mature
Over the years it's crazy to see changes in siblings' personalities. My two brothers for instance, are complete opposite. And when I say opposite, I mean opposite!
2. Easy Targets
Whether it's being the butt of the jokes or being the victim of a punishment, it's easy to keep your younger sibling on the back-burner. Let's face it, no one likes to be the victim, so if you're able to get away with it then so be it.
3. The Baby Age
I, personally, love babies. They're so cute and love to vomit- it's amazing. But once you look past the crying and constant dribble of spit, they're pretty cool. I kinda wish I still was a baby - why wouldn't you like to sleep all day?
4. They Have You
Let's be real, if it wasn't for you they wouldn't have a best friend by default. They are pretty lucky!. They'll be lucky to have a sibling to fall back on who's made some mistakes in their lifetime. They learn from you.
5. You Get to Set Standards for Them
Being the oldest, you only want what's best for your siblings, or you hope that they go above and beyond you. It's only natural to want to do well and see other do well.
6. They're Family
Family is family. You love them and you hate them. But in the end, you're stuck with them forever, and that's pretty impeccable.
It's not that bad being the oldest, and definitely worth it. You get to watch them grow, and you get to see where they end up in life.
