In a world full of negativity and constant ridicule it is imperative that our generation promotes self love. There are more reasons to love yourself than one would think or see in the mirror. On those days when I see nothing but the bad, I have to remember that I am worthy of love. That love should come from within. Here are some reasons to love yourself:

1. There is only one you

You are unique and special, you should show your weirdness and be super proud of it.

2. You are beautiful

Just like James Blunt said, you're beautiful. You might think to yourself "I'm not as skinny as a Victoria's Secret model" or "I wish my boobs were bigger" just learn to accept it and love what you got. It can be a challenge to be comfortable in your own skin but you should be. There is plenty about you that is unique, special, and gorgeous so flaunt it.

3. Never let anyone define your existence

So what if that stupid boy doesn't like you? That doesn't mean you shouldn't love yourself honey. Be powerful and beautiful and know that there are plenty more where he came from.

4. Practice day-by-day self love.

It won't happen overnight but you can teach yourself positivity, it can be as simple as posting positive quotes on instagram. Start small, but teach yourself love instead of hate.

5. Buy clothes that make you feel good

Everyone should have one outfit, pair of shoes or even a lipstick that makes them feel fabulous when they are depressed. Put that on, and show the world what you are made of. It is so important to how you carry yourself.

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
