Lizzie McGuire was the epitome of my adolescence. I'm sure many others can say that. There is no doubt about it, Lizzie McGuire perfectly captured what it is like to be a teenager. Whether you identified with her charming awkawrdness, her family dynamics, or her friendships, it's clear that pretty much anybody who watched the show could relate with Lizzie in one way or another. Here are 7 reasons why Lizzie was oh-so relatable.

1.) Her Fights With Matt

Anyone with siblings can relate with the irritation Lizzie felt when constantly being bothered by her younger brother, Matt. Though Lizzie and viewers alike were constantly annoyed by his trouble-making, we all know he was witty and definitely a key part of the show. I mean, what would the show be without Matt deviously listening in on Lizzie's calls, sneaking into her room, and continuously stirring up trouble in the McGuire household?

2.) Dealing With Bullies

Kate and Lizzie started off as friends until Kate got a bra and sudddenly thought she was way more cool than Lizzie. Unfortunately, Lizzie had some really cringe-worthy interactions with Kate and the other popular kids throughout the series. However, Lizzie often had some good comebacks which always made Lizzie fans proud.

3.) Dealing With Parents

Lizzie was always pretty respectful to her parents (other than that time she went through her rebellious phase). Her parents, Jo and Sam, were often clueless on how to raise a teenager, but they were always trying to be as supportive and understanding as possible. Raising a teenager is quite a feat so it's understandable that her parents were often unaware. Lizzie, at times, would grow very frusterated with their confusion but the family would resolve every problem by the end of each episode and maintain their loving and endearing relationship.

4.) Her Quest to Fit In

Lizzie, like many other teenagers, spent much of her time trying to look and act "cool" so she could be more popular. Luckily, her friends and family often reminded her that being herself was much more important than trying to fit in.

5.) Her Style

At the time, Lizzie was a style icon. She was always on trend and constantly inspiring her fans' wardrobes. Her spunky headbands, chokers, layered shirts, and butterfly clips were iconic.

6.) Her Alter-Ego

Lizzie's animated alter-ego thought, did, and said exactly what we were thinking in our heads. The cartoon version of herself was a way to see directly into the inner Lizzie. Basically anyone who watched this show wanted their own animated alter-ego and if they say that they didn't, they are lying.

7.) The Value of Friends and Family

The most important thing Lizzie McGuire taught us was that true friends and family are essential. Her friendship with Miranda and Gordo taught viewers how to be loyal and supportive. This series taught everyone to value family and friends.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
