College has been very sweet to me, but also very salty. Exams are only a couple weeks away, and after that, it’s smooth sailing. This semester has killed me and I’ve got a lot of reasons I’m ready for it to be over.

1. I’m tired.

Sleep deprivation is real. I have pulled a few too many all-nighters this semester and I need the rest. These next few weeks will be nonstop, but once they’re over I can just relax.

2. I haven’t had time for anything.

With 3-10 assignments due in a single week’s time for the last 13 weeks, I’m ready for a break. I want to go see movies, spend time with my friends, go out or just stay in and sleep. It’ll be nice to actually have down time

3. My motivation is negative four.

As the weather gets nicer and the semester comes to a close, I just don’t care. I have a presentation and a 10-page paper due in a few days, but I’m not even going to pretend those assignments exist until the night before. Procrastination is real.

4. My Netflix account needs some love.

I’ve been so busy studying, writing papers and creating presentations, I haven’t had time to binge watch any new shows. That’s just sad.

5. It’s too nice out to be cooped up in a classroom.

Some professors are cool and have class outside, but none of mine are. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping and it’s just too nice to stay inside.

6. It’s music season.

No matter what kind of music you listen to, new music is in the air. I’ve been listening to the same playlist for months now and it’ll stay that way until I have time to download new music after exams. The songs of the summer are being released and I have no idea what they are.

7. I’m tired of living in a residence hall.

I love all the girls in my hall, but I miss my own room. I can’t wait to take a shower without shoes on, change without the fear that someone is going to walk in or be woken up by drunk college students outside my room at 2 o'clock in the morning.

8. I miss home cooked meals.

I never told my mom enough how much I appreciated her home cooking. Food from the cafeteria just isn’t cutting it anymore.

9. This constant state of stress is killing me.

I’ve had too many baby heart attacks this semester. Stressing over exams, projects and everything else that this semester has thrown at me is just too much. My anxiety has anxiety and I need a break.

10. Work work work work work.

With such a rigorous class schedule, I’ve had to cut back my hours at work. Without having to go to class, I can devote all of my time working and making money. $$$$

11. I’m excited for next school year.

I’m ready to take more classes related to my major. I’m ready to be more involved and meet new people. Being a freshman in college is much different than being a freshman in high school. No one cares how old you are, they get to know you and I can’t wait for that.

12. Summer!

Summer for college students starts in May and I’m excited. I’ll have an extra month to enjoy all that comes with summertime. Good times, great music and even better people. Bring it on.

This semester has been great, but I’m ready for it to be over. Bigger and better things are to come. This summer will be a time to relax and have a good time. With 18 credit hours each semester next year, it’ll be a lot of hard work and I’m ready for a break. Power through the end of the semester and say a prayer to the exam gods that you finish strong. You’ve almost finished another semester of college. Go you!

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
