Growing up by the beach and with a pool in every street forces you to like the sun.
Liking the sun and living in a tropical city means being in a bikini half of the time.
Being in a bikini half of the time means shaving, waxing or removing body hair in any shape or form, a lot.
When you spend all of your teenage years waxing and shaving so often, you start to develop a mild hate towards hair removal methods. You name it, I've tried it. After a while, your skin starts to suffer the consequences and there are so many ingrown hairs a girl can handle, believe me.
After years of trial and error, I came face to face with a new option - one that had scared me for years - laser hair removal.
I never had the nerve to try it due to a couple of reasons. First I had to convince my dad because he was the one paying before, and that was clearly a dead end. Second, this procedure was crazy expensive back home. And third I was too young and word on the street was it hurt like hell.
Fast forward six years, I'm working and can pay for it. But still, I had heard it hurt, so I sat down and analyzed my options.
After using a waxing machine for years I came to the conclusion that laser couldn't be much more painful than that. The effect of the waxing machine lasted about three weeks, but it cost about $20. On the other hand, the laser costs way more but lasts years. So, clearly, I decided to do it.
Now, five sessions later, I can assure you, my girly friend who is very probably sick of shaving/waxing, that laser hair removal is the best option out there.
Yes it is expensive, and yes it hurt like hell, but it is SO worth it. You only spend the money once — or you can pay for it in parts, it all depends on your beautician - and the pain is only bad during the first couple of sessions. Once you hit that third session is becomes more of a discomfort.
On top of that, you can get laser wherever you want, lip, legs, arms, bikini line...
From the girl who is on her way to her sixth laser session, please do yourself a favor and spend you money on laser hair removal. You'll end up saving money and time.
Believe me, I haven't touched a razor in months.
