Apple is making some big improvements and releasing some big news lately. Not only have they announced the new iPhone 7 and the second generation Apple Watch, but they also announced the new iOS 10. It's an update for your phone that you might actually want to download as soon as it comes out. There are a lot of new features included with this update to make most iPhone users extremely happy.

One major feature that everyone seems to be excited about with this new update is the new emojis. Though it doesn't appear there are any new food emojis being added, there are about 70 others, so get excited about that. They are much more diverse, including different genders for the sports emojis and the addition of a woman construction worker and police officer. More diverse families have been added as well. For example, there are now single parent families. It's about time Apple recognizes and adds more diversity and gender equality in their emojis. If you want to see all of the new emojis, you could either wait for the update or check out TechCrunch for a sneak peak.

Another exciting feature with the update is the improvements with Apple Maps. You can now set a route to specifically avoid tolls and stop along your route to find restaurants, gas stations and other stops without having to completely end your trip. They have also added a Find My Car feature so you won't lose your car in a parking lot again. Clearly, the people at Apple know the struggle.

Apple has finally answered to our cries and pleas about being able to delete unwanted apps. With the new update, you'll finally be able to delete those pesky apps that automatically came with your phone. Yea, I'm looking at you, stocks and compass. It's been nice knowing you, but storage space is more important. And if you want them back, all you have to do is go into settings and voila, there they are.

The clock app will now have a bedtime feature included that tracks your sleeping habits and will be connected with the Health app. You'll get reminders and data to help your sleeping habits stay on track. It helps you get up and go to bed at the same times every day, so your sleep is more even and regular.

There is another way to optimize storage space on your iPhone as well. You'll be able to tell your phone to delete songs you haven't listened to in a while in order to free up some space. You can always re-download the songs later if you all of the sudden want to listen to them again.

There are plenty of other features included with the update that will prove to be super useful. Be sure to download the update, you won't regret it.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs.
