5 Reasons Why Dogs Are Better Than Humans

If you aren’t a “dog person,” you might have no soul.

I love humans and I think we're really cool and all, but dogs are something else. Sometimes I wonder how we got so lucky to have such amazing creatures live among us. I’ll be honest, it was a struggle to narrow it down to 5 reasons, but here's an attempt.

1. They’re all ears.

They listen to you when no one else will. Sadly, your dog can’t talk. But on the bright side, they will always give you their undivided attention and they won’t ever interrupt your very important stories. Plus, they love when your attention is on them so they’ll soak up all of the love for as long as you ramble on. It’s a win/win situation. Yes, human friends are nice to vent to every once in a while, but they might tell you what you don't want to hear or they'll sit back and give you that judgmental look. I’ll take puppy dog eyes over judgey human eyes any day. Which brings me to my next point…

2. Their puppy dog eyes are insane.

I mean I guess some humans have pretty eyes, but have you ever met a dog who didn’t have beautiful eyes? Probably not. Truthfully, I’ve never been one to believe in love at first sight, but dogs have a gift. They can steal your heart with just one glance. And they are so darn photogenic. To be honest, I definitely have more photos of my dogs than of actual humans on my phone, but it's because dogs literally always look good. Forget models, I want to see more dogs on billboards.

3. They’re always happy to see you.

I absolutely love going home to visit my parents. But little do they know, I come home mainly to see my two furry best friends. I can guarantee that no human would sprint across the house to greet you with a face lick and a wagging tail because no human is ever that excited about anything or anyone. Humans are nice sometimes, but 80% of the time we have sticks up our butts that prevent us from showing any ounce of happiness whatsoever. I think we could all learn a thing or two from our joyful, little pups.

4. They love to nap at all hours of the day.

Naps are my favorite, but many humans believe that napping is unacceptable when you’re an adult. However, your dog thinks otherwise. Licking your paws and chasing your tail can get tiring. So follow your dog's example and take a break from your busy life. Odds are, you’ll have more energy when you wake up to chase that squirrel in the backyard or to chase that dream job of yours. Work hard, nap harder. Or something like that.

5. They are always loyal.

While you may have a bunch of different human friends, your dog only knows a few people besides you. Therefore, you will always (unless you really mess up) be your dog’s very best friend. So just remember, while you’re out in the real world stressed about literally everything, there is a cute little K9 at home only thinking about you.

If you’re a dog owner, you are very loved. If you’re not a dog owner, you know what to do (adopt a dog, you weirdo).

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
