When most people hear about Country music, they think about twang and a southern drawl. But as a country music fan, I see Country Music as so much more than that, and you should too.

1. Country songs tell stories.

"Don't Take The Girl," by one of Country Musics greats Tim McGraw tells the story of a boy growing up, and his changing feelings on the girl. This is a story that a lot of people could relate to, but they wouldn't hear this story in pop or rock music, now would they?

2. There is a country song for literally any situation.

Did your boyfriend cheat on you? "Before He Cheats," by Carrie Underwood. Graduating from High School or College? We know you're listening to "My Wish," by Rascal Flatts. Whatever you're going through, country music can help you get through it by giving you some tunes to belt your heart out to.

3. Country Music can give some of the best advice

Been fighting with your man ladies? Need to know if you should leave him or not? "Mascara," by Runaway June is just what you need. Dads, did you just give your Daughter away? Give "I Loved Her First," by Heartland a quick listen. Country music can help you to make important decisions, while being catchy.

4. Country songs can get you in your feels

Sometimes just listening to a certain country song can have tears welling up in your eyes. "If Heaven Wasn't So Far Away," by Justin Moore is one of these songs. It brings up memories, and will touch your heart after one listen. Another tear jerker is "I'm Gonna Love You Through It," by Martina McBride, which tells the story about sticking by your loved ones side as they fight the punches life throws at them.

5. Country songs are so catchy

Even if you don't actually like country music, if you hear a certain country song then there is a very good chance that it will be stuck in your head for about seventeen years. One of those songs for a lot of country music lovers is "Wagon Wheel," by Darius Rucker.

6. Country music can give you some of the best songs to belt out in the car.

Some of the best songs to blast and sing to in the car are country songs. Don't forget, some of the best road trip songs are early Taylor Swift, and she was a country artist at the time.

7. Country lyrics are some of the realest lyrics ever

Some songs in country don't sugar coat the punches that life throws at you. "Life Ain't Always Beautiful," by Gary Allen tells you the realities of life, and how life can always knock you down. Or "I Hope You Dance," by Leann Womack, which pushes you to make take risks and "dance."

8. Country music will let you sing about The Lord in a catchy way.

Whether it is a classic faith song like "I Saw God Today," by George Strait, to the ever trendy "Jesus Take The Wheel," by Carrie Underwood country music is a genre that has strong ties to faith, and sometimes Country music gives you the opportunity to sing about talking to God and making corn bread in the same course.

9. There is always a country song for you to sing to any person in your life.

Gather your whole crazy family in one room and either play or sing "Family Is Family," by Kacey Musgraves and everyone in that room will feel the love. Another ringer is "Mama's Song," by Carrie Underwood. Ladies, this is a great song to play for your mother, and it is almost guaranteed she will cry.

10. The men in country music tend to be just slightly attractive.

These are only two examples of the fabulous men that grace country music with their presence.

11. Carrie Underwood

I do believe that this lady deserves her own category. She puts out some of the most amazing music, and have you seen her legs?! Total mom goals.

12. Country Music is the music of the Red, White and Blue.

Country music probably has the most songs that talk about American Pride, and thankfulness for our Veterans and Armed Forces. Ever heard the song "God Bless The USA,"? You guessed it, a country song. "American Soldier," by Toby Keith is an ode to America's soldiers, and the sacrifices they make.

Country music, is a genre that brings people together. The songs are about real life, and things that listeners can relate to. These songs and artists are people and songs that are real and raw, and listening to them will spark a feeling inside you that will lead you to really fall in love with country music.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.
