On a day to day basis people would call me crazy. When I respond with “Well I prefer the term weird,” I get a number of reactions. Some people laugh, some people question me and others just let the statement go. It’s hard to fully admit when people are outside the “normal” scale, trust me it took me a couple years. Here are some reasons to admit to yourself being weird is an okay thing.
1. Your personality could reflect on it.
You know those people, the ones with the outgoing personalities. Usually those people express the most weirdness out of them all. Although I’ve seen people with other personalities express a level of weirdness I can’t top myself.
2. There are different types of weird.
From that one socially awkward person who can’t fully express themselves because no one will let them, to the guy in the street corner putting on a one man show, there’s no stopping the amounts of weirdness that come alive in one or more persons.
3. It doesn’t always have to be called weird.
Especially for those who don’t fully called you weird (like I mentioned in the beginning). The more ways you call it, the better it is for everyone.
4. Most social events are perfect for you.
From parties with your friends to other family events, your level of weirdness could be just the right amount. It could probably even kick things off.
5. Being weird, is being yourself!
There’s no one stopping you from being yourself unless they truly want to change you. If they want to get rid of your weirdness then they are not the people for you.
In short, I love being who I am with the right people. There’s endless possibilities of discovering myself no matter what day or month out of the year. So for those in the same boat as me, stay weird!
