Marvel's "Avengers: Infinity War" has been stuck in my mind for weeks now. The ending of the story left me questioning what could possibly be happening in the next year's continuation. There are clearly some questions that were left unanswered on purpose in order to help keep us on the edge their sets until the next installment. The directors and screenwriters included MSN.
There was a scene that everyone is talked about where Dr. Strange looked at 14 million different possibilities for their fight with the big guy himself, Thanos. Within the possibilities of the outcome of the battle, there was only one outcome: the Avengers were able to beat him and save the universe. This whole idea just seems off because those odds are dead-on impossible.
Now, before you say that Dr. Strange made actions that would help the Avengers' odds by giving Thanos the Time Stone in order to save Tony Stark, there is a problem with everything. If Dr. Strange knows the choices that must be made in order to save the world, why would he go ahead and explain what must be done to those who are still going to survive the snap in order to make sure what needs to happen, actually happens?
I think that Strange just gave up on trying to save the world. He foresaw himself unable to do his duty of protecting the time stone and found that he would be unable to protect the universe. Would you continue to fight, even if you knew everything you tried to do was fruitless?
I think Strange wanted to go out on a high note by letting those around him think that there was hope for the future. He was going to watch half the universe vanish from existence. For him, there was no way that he could save the world that was going to chaos in front of him.
This may seem completely out there, considering the small hints that the directors laid out in front of us, but what if everything has been leading to one of the largest plot twists in film history? Currently, the only theories placed in front of us are from speculation of what has been presented in the movies. We are so quick to try and tell the next Avengers story, that we fail to take a look back and view all the possibilities.
We need to be more like Dr. Strange and view the 14 million different possible outcomes and come together for the one where we all end up triumphant.
