Don't forget the reason.

Christmas seems to get better as you get older. You aren't worried about gifts as much as when you were younger. It really is about family and the birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is so much better when you don't care about gifts.

Now, of course we still are super excited to open our gifts and to use our new things. The difference from when you are younger is that you are more excited about spending time with your family and friends. Also, when you're older, you're not bummed out about the things that you didn't get, you're just thankful for what you did get.

This year, I was so excited about the gifts that I got for people. Like, I was more excited about giving than receiving. In my opinion, this is a huge sign that you are growing up and maturing.

The gifts I gave to my loved ones were not especially expensive, but they were very thoughtful.

On Christmas Eve, I was literally squealing with excitement for my boyfriend to open his gifts, especially his NEW PORTABLE RECORD PLAYER. I just knew he was going to love everything.

On Christmas Day with my family, all I wanted to do was watch my family open their gifts and see the looks on their faces. I was the same way at my family's Christmas party. Everyone just wanted everyone to open their gifts at the same time, but I just couldn't do it. I had to wait til the end so I could watch everyone open their gifts and see how excited they were.

I LOVE being at the point where I care more about others being happy with their gifts than myself. Christmas is truly better when it's not about what you receive.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
