A Reasonable Bucket List

Things you can actually accomplish in your lifetime.

I used to think bucket lists were a silly concept. After giving it some more thought and thinking about big things I really want to do in my life, it made a little more sense. I think one of the most important things about a bucket list is that it's attainable. So with this list, I decided to write down 11 things I really think I can get accomplished in my life. Now, of course, there are things not on this list that I also really want, but these were some I wanted to share. So in no particular order, here it goes!

1. Go Skiing

Try not to judge, but no I have never been skiing. Yes, I grew up in New England. I guess I just never got around to it? Sure, I have been tubing, but never skiing. Every year I keep saying to myself I will try it, and before you know it, the snow's gone. Too bad!

2. Go to every state in the U.S.

Kind of cliche, I know, but it is something I really want to do. I have several crossed off of my list, but my idea and perception of this country is only based on my environment and experience. I think traveling around the United States would be a lot of fun and definitely eye-opening.

3. Go backstage at a concert or show.

I have had one really awesome encounter with one of my fav celebrities, but getting to go backstage at a concert or show would be unbelievable. Whether it be a Broadway show to see the backstage area and dressing rooms or to meet my favorite artist after they perform.

4. Learn another language.

English just isn't enough. I know this would not be an easy task, but learning another language would be really awesome. I mean how cool would it be to have a conversation with someone and not have other people understand you?!

5. Go on a cruise.

Ask my sister, watching the Titanic was a traumatizing experience for me. However, I do understand that the actual chances of a large accident occurring on a cruise ship are minimal. Those I know who have been on a cruise, love them. Maybe not as my honeymoon, in case I end up hating it, but definitely a future vacation!

6. Go to Disney World.

Seriously, I was deprived as a child! Yes, I have been to Disneyland, but they just are not the same. I want to have the magical experience of those amusement parks. From my Disney experience, everyone feels like a child and really enjoys themselves. I mean how could you not be happy at the happiest place on Earth?

7. Fall in love.

Being a hopeless romantic, I have high hopes for my future husband. I want to experience the happiness that is love. I want to make a whole new bucket list with that person and enjoy all life has to offer with them. I want to find someone who laughs at my dumb jokes, holds me when I cry, and watches Real Housewives and Teen Mom with me because they just want to be next to me.

8. Start a family.

To those who know me, I am such a mom. So getting to actually be a mom some day is high up there on my actual bucket list. I want to know what it's like to have such an unconditional love for someone. I want to raise a child, see them grow, and become something amazing. I really do love the children I babysit, but I want my own (not yet mom, don't worry)!

9. Purchase a nice piece of art.

It may sound a little weird, but in my opinion, people who purchase nice art are sophisticated. My aunt and uncle have really nice art at their house and it just adds something to their home. I want to have something special like that in my future home, too.

10. Make a big impact on someone else's life.

There are so many people I have met in my life that have had a lasting effect on me and I know I will never forget. I have gotten up the courage to tell only a few of those people, but if I could be what some of those people are to me, to someone else, I would be honored. The person that comes to mind for me, always makes me happy and I mean always. A hug from her is magical and she is my role model in so many ways. I could only hope that one day I could do for her what she has done for me.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
