I promise you are going to relate to this.

If my lack of shares on my previous three articles does not show it, maybe this article will. Seeing that I have a total of 25 shares on those articles, I have begun to wonder what I could do to do better. I have narrowed it down to four options: writing better, finding better things to write about, self-deprecation, or self-realization. I could write better, but I have never been much of a writer to begin with, so I doubt that's gonna happen anytime soon. Finding better things to write about seems like it would be the easiest option, but since I have a very strange sense of humor and very few passions, I'm not entirely sure how that would work out in the long run. Self-deprecation seems desperate, but sometimes desperate times call for desperate measures. Last but not least, there's self-realization. What would I be self realizing you ask? Well, I would realize that I am just not relatable enough to write for The Odyssey.

Now I'm not saying that it is a bad thing to not be relatable, but it is if you are writing for an organization geared towards getting shares because many people relate to or enjoy your articles. The things that I find funny are only funny to a select group of people, and that can only take me so far. I also do not have that many friends to begin with, and that doesn't help my cause either (see also: self-deprecation).

Since I have never really been in a relationship before, I can't give any advice on that, but everyone is dying to read relationship advice because it seems like no one knows how relationships work anymore. I'm not sh*tting on the way people handle their relationships, but as soon as there's any sort of conflict whatsoever, people freak out and expect someone else to figure it out for them.

I also have both a mom and a dad whom I love to death, but as much as I want to write about how much I love them, I'd rather not share my personal relationships with everyone because they're personal and I want them to stay that way. That is not why I am writing for the Odyssey, so if you're looking for that, good luck finding it here.

The main reason I decided to write for this organization is because I thought it would be a good way to show the world a new perspective on things, whether they liked it or not. If people related to it, great, but if not, that's fine too. It's OK to be different than everybody else, even if that means making a fool out of yourself, which in my case means getting single-digit shares on my Odyssey articles. So if you find this article relatable, share it and tell your friends about it, but if not, it wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
