Really Cheap Floors a College Student Can Afford

Don't think you can afford hardwood?

Well it's time to think again! There are different grades of hardwood floors. In the video above you'll see a bit about Cabin grade hardwood. It's some of the most inexpensive hardwood in the market.

Why Buy Hardwood in the First Place? I Rent!

Why hardwood? I have to pay rent.

Well very few young adults own their own homes but if you are the unicorn that has life figured out enough to own your own home then you are in luck! The prices you see on TV or Youtube are 1st Quality pricing. (The most expensive grade of hardwood.

So check out cabin. It's a much better deal.

On the Floor or Wall?

This would be a cool Youtube backdrop.

Oh yeah, you can do that. Having hardwood on the floor isn't the only option. You can take it to the wall. (To the WINDOW!!)

You will find that cabin grade will have what is called color variation. The picture above has some color variation in the boards and a lot of wood knots or natural imperfections. Cabin grade will have these but not all cabin will have it this drastic of color and imperfections. It will still be cut to be pretty smooth for a hardwood floor. The picture above is more representative of a rustic grade but its important to note that flooring grades are all made up from flooring manufacturers. There is no flooring police.

Keep it Up!

If you're not ready to have hardwood on your walls or floor don't worry! Just know that you may be closer to making that budget for a nice floor is closer than you think.

Keep your head up and know that you can replace any old carpet with hardwood that won't break the bank.

Stuck on Zillow

Me searching for those cute hardwood floors

We all share these insane zillow mansions with our moms right? Or is that just me? I get jealous of the beautiful rooms and lavish pools. I may be writing about boring flooring but thats because its more obtainable. The cabinets can probably be attached to "things I need" but for now we will leave that alone.

Flooring is a cornerstone piece to your home's decor. You may not be able to recreate the zillow mansion you found while procrastinating the research you need to do to get a passing grade on your term paper. However, you will find that starting with your floor then decorating the entire house is a smart way to go.

Contrasting colors and complimenting themes help when you know exactly what will be covering your negative or empty space that we call a floor.

If you can find a good deal or inexpensive flooring it helps to use those saving on that appliance you have your eyes on to update the kitchen. I know I don't need a television on my fridge, but if I can have one why not add it right?

Whatever money you save using the hardwood flooring grade hack is money straight to your pocket.

What do you think about hardwood floors? Are you in love with carpet? Have you even heard of luxury vinyl plank or luxury vinyl tile?

If you want to hear more about flooring we will write on what interests you the most.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
