If Gabriella, Troy and the rest of the Wildcats gang can have that much fun at their summer job, so can you. There probably won’t be as much singing as there was in "High School Musical 2," but you can still enjoy working during summer.

You can expect to make lots of memories given that you are spending hours a day at your job. There will be days when your alarm clock wakes you up and you wish you were on an island in the Caribbean with zero responsibilities, but just remember what you’re going to get a paycheck!

1. At least you aren’t in school

I don’t know about you, but every finals week makes me come very close to losing it. When I was cramming papers and projects during finals, I thought to myself “After this semester, I deserve a month-long cruise of the Mediterranean Sea.” That never happened, but I appreciate the fact that I have no homework for a few months.

2. You can save up all your paychecks to treat yourself

You have a job, so that's a start to adulting. But the real test of how responsible you can be is when you get your paycheck and decide to save it instead of blowing it on material stuff. If you haven't already, you will learn the hard way that people and experiences are worth more than anything you can buy in the store (except for food and coffee; I don't feel bad spending my money on those things.)

3. When the time comes for your vacation, you will appreciate it more

All vacations are great, but they turn out to be even more amazing when you have been anticipating them while you are at work. It's something to look forward to while you work every day. And once you come back to work after your fabulous vacay, you are recharged and ready to work ... hopefully.

4. You can conquer summer on the weekends

There is no shame in "working for the weekend," especially when you're just a broke college kid with a summer job. Make the weekends as bougie or laid-back as your heart pleases. Go to brunch with the girls Saturday AND Sunday. Or dedicate the weekends to self-care and soaking up vitamin D. You can totally explore cities around your area on weekend road trips. Summer is whatever you make it, and a summer job is only making it easier for you to have money to live it up until school starts in fall.

Well all those fundraisers and marketing should would be a waste then wouldn't they?

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

There are plenty of obstacles that come when taking care of kids, but it's a very rewarding experience.

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about. However, others are not as fortunate and often times give up on corrections after a while. We usually give an A+ for effort. So, as you could probably imagine, there are a few struggles with having a name that isn’t technically English. Here are just a few…

Daydreaming

day·dream (ˈdāˌdrēm/): a series of pleasant thoughts that distract one's attention from the present.

Daydreams, the savior of our life in class. Every type of student in the classroom does it at least once, but most cases it is an everyday event, especially in that boring class -- you know the one. But what are we thinking while we are daydreaming?

Puerto Ricans. They are very proud people and whether they were born on the island or born in the United States by Puerto Rican parent(s). It gets even better when they meet another fellow Puerto Rican or Latino in general. You’ll know quickly if they are Puerto Rican whether the flag is printed somewhere on their person or whether they tell you or whether the famous phrase “wepa!” is said.
