"Are you excited for college?"
That was the question of the day when I graduated on May 25. Everyone was so appreciative and happy that I had finally finished all four years of high school after getting straight A's in numerous quarters and leading my journalism team as the best newspaper in the county.
However, I wasn't excited for college that day. It had not set in. When August rolled around though, my emotions suddenly ramped up to 100 percent.
It was finally time.
The week of the first had us getting our schedules, which was a coincidence since I tweeted a day ago that I couldn't wait until we got our schedules. Nevertheless, we did and I was happy with the results. I could finally be excited to wake up and do what I wanted until classes started at 8:45 a.m. or 10 a.m. every other day.
Soon after we received information about what books we needed for each class. I was shocked to find out how much it cost just to rent used books. I knew that it would be a lot, but not THAT much.
I searched around for a bit until I found the ones I needed, purchasing them either through the school itself or on Amazon, which had them for a bit cheaper. I love how we can rent them for exactly how long we needed them, which was great.
While the process for getting stuff for my dorm has been tough, it's been a great experience packing up my room and seeing just how much stuff I really had.
Most of it I did get rid of, which kind of felt good in retrospect. I don't like having a lot of stuff to begin with, so it was a relieving process to throw most of it away at the landfill.
Soon, it'll be Move-In Day. I'll breathe a sigh of relief and take a step forward into a new beginning.
