Now, if you're like me, you'll tell yourself at the start of this break that you are going to be somewhat productive during the holidays. You'll commit to finally reading that book you bought a year ago, clean out your car which looks like a makeshift closet, and complete those scholarships your parents are on your back about. Â
Along with all of these, you also plan to hang out with your friends as much as possible while you are home. Driving to see Christmas lights, hosting a Christmas party, and going to the mall or movies are only a few of the things on your lengthy list. Â
However, in reality, this is how Christmas break will actually play out:
You have four weeks to accomplish all of the extra stuff you didn't have time to do this semester:
But it's been a rough semester. You tell yourself you are just going to hibernate for a day or two ...
However, two weeks go by:
Your friends text you wanting to hang out outside of the house:
After some convincing, they finally get you to agree to lunch which will be the first time you've been outside in a while:
An hour of socializing goes by and you're longing for your couch:
It's not really the socializing that bothers you; it's just the fact that you're not home in sweats and a t-shirt. So you move the party back to your house:
Unfortunately, the combination between this and holiday cookies has taken its toll:
But the 25th is quickly approaching, and you still have to make it to all of your family functions and holiday parties:
After all of the festivities, you tell yourself to kick it into high gear. Which is a pretty good joke:
You just end up on the couch again with more hostility since you only have a few days until school starts again:
Then you get back to school and realize you spent the whole break doing absolutely nothing:
