New Years’ Resolutions can seem cliched. Go to the gym. Eat healthier. Travel. Be organized.
While these are all great goals to have (and kudos to you if you have the willpower to keep them!) most of the time these promises are not kept, and then you are left feeling disappointed in yourself or simply give up on caring altogether. If that is the case, you may ask why to make New Years’ Resolutions at all?
Although these resolutions are not always fulfilled, it is important to set goals and have an end idea of where you wish to see yourself. As I was contemplating whether to write a list of goals that I would most likely give up by mid-January (let’s be real,) I decided to make a list of more realistic resolutions for myself.
1. Do not use all my class skips within the first half of the semester (I may or may not have done this last semester, OOPS.)
2. Limit McDonald’s runs to less than twice a week (again, oops.)
3. Go to the gym 3 times a week.
4. I cannot keep a journal for the life of me, but if I am stressed or need a venting moment then try to write out my thoughts.
5. Call Mom and Dad more while I am at school.
6. Choose water over Dr. Pepper often (please, your body is begging you.)
7. Give out compliments whenever possible.
8. Smile more!
Whether your New Years’ Resolutions are simple like mine, or more in depth, good luck in 2018, and choose to work toward your goals the best that you can.
