True Beauty

Not everything is what it seems.

Beauty. The one thing some of us tend to forget the real meaning of. There are a ton of people in this world (the stereotypical ones) who see beauty as being on the outside only. A beautiful person does not have to be nice looking on the outside in order to be beautiful. I could stop at that but lets keep going.

Beauty is often confused with the terms pretty or gorgeous. If you all calling someone beautiful then that means you have seen their actions and words being used for the better. Actions speak louder than words so if a person is so "beautiful" on the outside and go around doing things they shouldn't, then are they really beautiful? No, they are not. They are simply pretty or gorgeous on the outside, and are essentially no good.

A beautiful person will help others with virtually anything and everything. They will never make up an excuse unless it was truly an emergency. A beautiful person has nothing but good intentions. They at make a mistake here or there, but the cause will always be for the better. The thought is what always matters no matter what. If they fail, big deal, they will always get right back up and step to the plate again. They are persistent no matter what or who try's to stand in their way.

To those beautiful people out there (you know who you are), don't you ever give up. No matter what keep your head held high and never lose your persistency, because you are making a difference in peoples lives whether you realize it or not. You may not always be appreciated by others as often as you should be but who cares, it's their fault not yours. They are missing out on something wonderful.

To the people who believe beauty is on the outside, and the outside only, I hope you will realize the truth. Things aren't always what they seem to be, and should not be judged right off the bat. Ever heard or the phrase 'don't judge a book by its cover'. Well, it's a pretty good quote to live by. It has a positive effect on life.

(For Girls Who Are Interested In Greek Life)

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
