Summer Breaks During College Are Best Spent Watching Netflix And Messing Up Your Sleep Schedule

Real Life: Summer Daily Routine
Marisa Sobotka

When school is finally ending and we are all let out for the summer, we always start with so many plans. We want to take a road trip with friends, go to the drive-in, get breakfast at midnight or even take a beach day. These are all very intriguing in thought, but let's be real, we barely do half of those things. Most of our summer is spent wandering around our own homes until we are forced to leave for work or some type of responsibility. Summer would be the ideal time to put yourself out there, but how can we do that when our bed is constantly calling our name? Here is the real daily life of a college student home for the summer.

Wake up somewhere between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. because who needs mornings?

Brush your teeth and continue the day in your pajamas, nobody to impress here.

Wander around your house and realize your family is gone and doing things with their life and you’re alone.

You end up in the kitchen and have a very hard time deciding on whether to eat breakfast or lunch - so you settle on Doritos.

You end up back in your bed and watch Netflix for a longer time than you mean to.

You scroll through your phone for the next hour and decide whether or not you have the energy to make plans.

You decide to give it a try, but making plans turns out to be too complicated.

Throw on sweats and head to Chipotle to get dinner to go.

Throw yourself back into bed and spend the rest of the night there.

Try to convince yourself that you should go to bed and get an early start and be productive tomorrow.

Stay up until 3 a.m. doing absolutely nothing and wake up the next day to repeat the cycle.

The first two weeks of classes have come to an end and they have been anything BUT easy. It seems like life has been serving up more bad than good and in all honesty, the only thing you want to do is crawl under your covers and hide from the rest of the world.

Although this seems like the best solution, it is also the easy way out. Take it from the girl who took basically a whole week off from her life because she just could not handle everything that was being thrown at her. This caused her to feel extremely lonely and even more stressed out for being behind in classes that JUST began.

11 Things We Learned From Brooke Davis

"What's more important? What we become or how we become it?"

Brooke Davis

"She was fiercely independent, Brooke Davis. Brilliant, and beautiful, and brave. In two years she had grown more than anyone I had ever known. Brooke Davis is going to change the world someday, and I'm not sure she even knows it." - Lucas Scott, An Unkindness of Ravens

Brooke Davis of the hit show One Tree Hill was the it girl - she had it all, or so we thought. She started out as a stuck-up, shallow, spoiled, head cheerleader who didn't have her life together. She slept around a lot and loved to party - sounds like your typical high school teenager right? Wrong. B. Davis had so much more to offer. Caring, loyal, and outspoken, she has taught us some valuable lessons throughout the 9 seasons that OTH was on the air:

We all have a person, and when that person makes some new friends, we tend to forget all the great things that can come out of it. Never forget how special they are to you and why you are best friends.
