College has helped me realize who my true friends are. Distance doesn’t mean a thing when it comes to real friendship. Hell, some of my closest friends live like 400 miles away from me, yet they have proven to be more down for me than anyone who I associate with on a daily basis.
Losing friends might really suck, but unfortunately, it’s a part of life.
The worst part is when you can physically and emotionally feel the distance between you and someone.
But it happens.
Just like we fall out of love. We can also fall out friendship. That connection that we once felt vanishes and things start to feel forced. I think that’s when you know the friendship wasn’t real to begin with.
I feel like the older you get, the more you begin to realize that you truly only need a few people in your circle.
A real friend will always have your back no matter what. They will always want what’s best for you and help you realize your wrongs especially at times when you’re too blind to see them yourself.
So I want to thank you,
Thank you for being my constant supporter.
Thank you for always offering me a shoulder to cry on.
Thank you for motivating me when I had no motivation left in me.
Thank you for never letting me drink alone,
(I think y'all know who you are so I don't see the need to specify any names).
