We all know how our favorite Disney princess stories are told because we either watched the movies or read the books. What if I told you that those stories are not the real tales? Will it break your heart because your childhood is ruined or will you just forget about because you do not want to believe? These five real stories about your favorite princesses may ruin you forever.

1. Cinderella

We all know this one. The girl with the terrible step-mom and step-sisters goes to the ball and wins the prince's heart. She ends up losing her shoe and the prince tries to find her with that one shoe. In the real story, her step sisters cut off their toes and heels to fit into the shoe so that they can say they are in fact is bride to be. All that for a man, no thanks!

2. The Little Mermaid

Oh Ariel, she wanted to get prince Eric so bad that she ended up selling her voice for some legs! In the real story, prince Eric falls for another woman and Ariel was told that she has to kill him. She was so in love that she could not bare to see him dead. She ends up jumping into the water and became sea foam. What a happy ending!

3. Sleeping Beauty

This my favorite Disney movie and princess. When I heard this story, I wanted to cry. Apparently princesses Aurora is sleeping in her room and prince Phillip rapes her while she is unconscious! Not only that, but also he is married! Like why Phillip, why? She also gets pregnant by her rapist and falls for him. I cannot.

4. Rapunzel

In this particular fairy tale, we know that she falls in love with a criminal and later finds out that she is in fact a princess. What you might have not known is that she also gets pregnant by him and her evil step mother finds out and cuts her long hair. Even worse, she dangles Rapunzel's hair out of the tower so that her baby's father can climb up. He finds out that it is not her and ends up falling into some thorns and gauging his eyes out. Gross!

5. Snow White

The real story of Snow White is actually very similar to the Disney version. However, after the prince takes her sleeping body to his castle and marries her, he invites the wicked queen to the wedding, he forces her to wear burning- hot iron shoes and he makes her dance until she dies. I think she deserved that, but gosh, until she dies?

There you have it. Five real terrible stories that Disney took and made less terrible. There, of course, are many other Disney princess stories that are insane, but why ruin your childhood even more. These facts should not stop you from watching, but they will have you thinking why would somebody come up with something like that?

Who is your favorite Disney princess?

Do you have any other stories that are similar to these?

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
