Fall Is Upon Us, Are You Ready?

The excitement about the upcoming season is way too real.

Ladies and gentlemen, I am excited to say that it is finally fall! Well, it's officially fall on September 22, but the air is getting cooler, the leaves are starting to turn and people won't shut up about Starbucks finally having PSL on the menu. So, to me, it's fall.

Growing up in a place where we have all four seasons, fall has always been my favorite. Fall is full of cute outfits, football games, lots of pumpkin, cooler weather and happy days. It also has two of the best holidays, in my opinion; Halloween and Thanksgiving. The excitement about the upcoming season is real.

1. Sunny days and cool nights. What better combination?

During the day, you get the beautiful sunshine and cool breezes, while at night, you get to bundle up a little bit more. I'm not complaining. It's the perfect combo in one season. What more can I ask for?

2. Cooler weather equals sweaters, scarves and boots.

In the fall you can comfortably wear a sweatshirt without sweating or freezing. It's a comfortable medium. Also, imagine the outfits. You can layer clothing, add scarfs to an outfit or even break out those boots you've been dying to wear. Hello L.L. Bean boots!

3. Football, football and more football.

It's finally time to take out all of your college and NFL gear so you can cheer on your favorite teams! Weekends are now full off tailgates, cheering and food. Bring on the football.

4. It's a beautiful sight to see when the ground is covered in all the colorful leaves.

Hearing the crunch under your feet as you walk through the Quad or watching the leaves fall off the trees reminds you of times where you used to jump into the leaf piles your Dad would make. It's a beautiful and peaceful sight that you can only get during the fall season. Side note: think of all the artsy pictures you can take now.

5. Pumpkin.

Yes, this is the most basic thing, but at least I didn't make it number one. If you don't like pumpkin spiced lattes, trust me there are many options for you to choose from that have pumpkin. Iced PSL, pumpkin bread, pumpkin muffins, pumpkin tea, pumpkin seeds, pumpkin everything.

6. Forget pumpkins, hello apples.

Ah! Apples are my absolute favorite and what better time to obsess than the fall? The fall offers apple picking, apple crisp and much more. Looking for something fun to do this fall? Take all your friends for a trip to the nearest apple orchard and then head home and bake up something tasty! Your apartments will smell of apple, fall and happiness.

7. Halloween is nearer than you think!

Halloween is a little over a month away from the start date of fall, so you have to start thinking about your costumes! Halloween is not what it used to be anymore, but you find time to dress up and have a blast with your friends. Break out that Tinkerbell costume. You know you want to.

8. Give me all of the blankets. All of them.

Pile on those blankets because it's fall! No need to keep the AC on, so crack open those windows, feel that crisp fall air and engulf yourself in blankets. Oh, and grab a cuddle buddy if you can.

9. Thanksgiving with family is one of the top things to look forward to.

After a long and stressful semester, you are able to go home and spend time with your family and loved ones. Time to unwind, enjoy the fall and stuff your belly.

10. Bonfires are the best way to end a fall day.

Gather around the campfire because the fall weather is the perfect time to have one before it gets too cold in the winter (Ew, winter).

11. Everyone's in a better mood.

I mean, don't get me wrong, some people hate the fall because it means winter is coming and summer is gone, but most people are more relaxed and happier all around due to the fall festivities happening 24/7.

Happy fall, friends!

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

11 Signs You Grew Up In Hauppauge, NY

Because no one ever really leaves.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.
