Dear Lost Soul out there,

This one is for you, especially when you really feel like giving up.

You may not feel this right now and you feel like the entire world is against you, but I want you to know that you are not alone in this world and you no one should ever feel that way. Trust me, I have been in that bad place before. It's that feeling where your mind is always overwhelmed with thoughts and you don't even want to get out of bed because you are just completely exhausted and drained from everything else.

But let me just say that I am on your side and I see who you truly are and how much potential you have in this world.

I see you waking up every single morning trying to figure out your life and how you are going to conquer it all. I see all your pain and your struggle, but let me just tell you that everything does get better. It may not happen overnight, but every day that you wake up and decide to take on the day headstrong is another day that you grow stronger and I am so proud of you for that. Your strength and determination do not go unnoticed because I see you for who you are.

Sure, the odds of us actually knowing each other are probably slim to none, but I want you to know that I am rooting for you. I am your cheerleader because I know you can get through this and you are definitely not alone.

You are stronger than most people because your feelings matter, regardless if it is physical pain or not. You are only human and we all have feelings, whether we like to admit it or not. It does not make you any less of a person because of it either. Don't worry about trying to justify your struggles and feelings with feeling lost and alone. The only thing that genuinely matters is that, even though you may be struggling right now, you still persevere every single day you wake up. That makes you incredibly strong and brave because you refuse to give up on yourself and that is amazing and should be recognized.

Eventually, I hope you find the happiness you need and deserve in this life because you are amazing. I hope you figure out who you are and love yourself in every single way possible because you are great and were destined for greatness.

At the end of the day, I want you to know that you are never alone with your hardships and you are loved. We all go through difficult times and that's okay. It doesn't make you weird and it is absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. Just remember that even though you may be experiencing pain right now, you will come out even stronger than before.

One day you will look back on those moments when you were struggling and realize that you managed to push through it all and you survived. That is the greatest lesson of all.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
