Being stressed is a feeling college students are all too familiar with. Whether it's keeping up with our grades, social lives, and even sleep, it can all get quite exhausting. And, odds are that you are reading this because a) you are very, very, very stressed, or b) my mom sent this to you and you are now being forced to read this... Regardless, these are 5 great things to do when you are feeling particularly overwhelmed with school, work, and life (featuring cute animals!!).

1. Take a break

While you may think studying for 8 hours straight is a great idea, it is not! Your brain needs rest, so do not feel guilty for watching that one episode of "Grey's Anatomy", or looking up funny videos on YouTube, or even online shop a bit. (Just do not end up forgetting to study for that Biology exam).

2. Exercise

If you are anything like me, exercise is basically the bane of my existence. I hate putting in the effort of going to the gym, BUT it really pays off. That extra boost of motivation and treadmill time is a great way to blow off some steam from all the studying you have been doing. Plus, it is always nice getting your body moving after sitting at your desk for so long.

3. Take a shower

Showers are a great place to relax, think, and reflect. You are not allowed to be stressed in the shower; It is a rule to not think of school work, or worry when you decide to take a shower, it is a haven of self-care! Put some tunes on, and remember: YOU. ARE. BEYOND.

4. Call your parents

Whenever you are feeling a little down or anxious about the week ahead of you, it is always nice to call some friendly faces from back home. I always feel so much better after calling my parents, they always know exactly what to say. I believe I can do pretty much anything after a phone call with them!

5. Get sleep!!

Last, but definitely not least, get some sleep!!! I promise that you will do better on every exam you take after even a little bit of sleep! That the all-nighter the night before will not help you, so sleep every chance you get! Sleep is your friend, okay.

So, good luck on finals, the week, and don't forget to treat yo' self! These cute animals are cheering you on!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Whether you're commuting or dorming, your first year of college is a huge adjustment. The transition from living with parents to being on my own was an experience I couldn't have even imagined- both a good and a bad thing. Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
