Dear future me,

I hope that you finished college with a degree in what you enjoy. I hope that you put the picture of money to the side, and found something you love with a passion.

I hope that you went and still go to church. I pray that you have confidence in yourself and walk with your head high. I hope that you don't sugar coat things, and stay bold. I hope that you still call your mom everyday, and always write your sister letters.

Oh, future me. I hope that you live somewhere beautiful. I hope you gained all the dreams that I am still dreaming of. I hope that you have puppies running around, and maybe even a teacup pig. I hope you have not lost your sense of humor, or your sarcasm. I hope that you never pass up an opportunity.

Most of all future self, I hope that you put others opinions last. YOU are who making yourself happy, not others. Current self might be struggling with this, but hoping that future self fixes it.

I hope that you never let any mountain scare you, and that you still feel hopeful when seeing them.

I pray that you marry the love of your life, and that you always stay with him.

I hope that you grow your education everyday, and never give up on yourself. I hope you impact your students lives everyday, and always remind all your students how wonderful they are.

I hope that you read so many books in your life that you loose count.

And most of all future self, please don't ever forget your past self and where you came from.

xoxo,

Past self

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
