One of the worst feelings is feeling like you aren't good enough for anyone or more importantly: yourself. Recently, I have been feeling like I say and do the wrong thing all the time. I try to help everyone as much as I possibly can, even when I don't want too. I try to be the best person that I can be everyday. Lately, I have been feeling the complete opposite. Some days it will take the strongest will for me to just get through the day without crying.

Since summer is amongst us college folk, and grade school is on the way, I figured that a short list of things to remember was necessary... not only for me but for everyone else who is feeling the same way.

1. Take a deep breath.

Before you do anything just take a breathe.

2. Remember that whoever you are comparing yourself too is probably feeling the same way that you are on the inside.

If you are a female reading this: STOP right now before you make yourself feel crazy. Every female in the gender world has compared themselves to another female at some point in their life. Especially the younger generations.

"You are perfect just the way you are." (Thanks, Bruno).

3. Overthinking is your worst enemy.

Better yet: you are your worst enemy. The person that is making you feel so crappy about you right now is you. What is the common factor there? I'll let you answer that.

4. The grass is always greener on the other side.

The glass is always half-full.

When life hands you lemons... put them in your sweet tea (and thank God you're a KΔ).

But no, really. Start looking at things in a more positive manner. I would like to think that I was raised with reality. One thing my parents never did was sugarcoat anything. Today in the car while on my way home, I realized that after listening to myself: I am an extremely negative person. It's okay to admit it, that is the first step. But now that you're more aware of it, catch yourself and make the change.

5. Focus on progress rather than perfection and on how far you’ve come rather than on how far you have left to go.

I think a big issue today is that people forget to see just how beautiful they truly are.

Hey, you: you got out of bed today and did life. Be proud of yourself.

Instead of kicking yourself for sleeping those 20 extra minutes, be thankful that you actually got yourself up and didn't sleep for an hour.

Life will get better as long as you make it better. Key word? you

6. You can’t hate your way into loving yourself.

Self- love and acceptance is something that is so incredibly important in life. If you don't love yourself how can you let someone else love you?

Hating yourself for the little things will never be worth it.

Do not hate yourself for eating that order of fries or that donut for breakfast this morning. It was a Monday and we all know how Monday's are. Go easy on yourself.

Ending on the Monday note I will leave you with this, just so you can see just how truly beautiful and free America was today:

"I know today is Monday, and you assume it’s going to suck, but according to statistics, there will be over 5,000 weddings, 10,000 childbirths, and 42 million hugs occurring today throughout the United States. Also today, there will be at least 4 people that will win the multimillion dollar lotteries, and 600 people will get promotions at work. There will also be 600 dogs adopted, 35,000 balloons sold, and 800,000 skittles eaten. Plus, the words “I love you” will be said over 9 million times. So again, I know today is Monday and you assume it’s going to suck, but just smile, because according to statistics, it should actually be a really nice day." -- Unknown

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
