6 Reasons 'Crazy Rich Asians' Is Your Summer Must-Read

I recently read the book "Crazy Rich Asians" by Kevin Kwan and I'm obsessed. It's a great summer read and it's the perfect book to read while you get some rays at the beach. Here are my top 6 reasons why you NEED to read this book.

It's a trilogy.

When I find a book that I really love, I never want that story to end, ever. Finding a good series is so satisfying because you get to indulge that story and those characters across multiple books. After you enjoy "Crazy Rich Asians," you can binge read "China Rich Girlfriend" and "Rich People Problems."

It's coming to the big screen in August.

I personally find such joy in reading books that I get to later watch come alive on the big screen. Luckily for me and you, "Crazy Rich Asians" comes out in theaters in just a month, and by the look of the commercial, it's going to be full of beautiful views, amazing fashion, and crazy drama.

It has romance.

I'm a sucker for a good romance story. While the story in "Crazy Rich Asians" doesn't really classify as a typical love story, it has elements of that within the novel. I can appreciate the chapters where Kwan focuses on the relationships between the main characters to take a break from the family drama.

It has a SASSY matriarch you're not sure if you should hate or love.

All hail Aunt Eleanor. I'm not sure if I love the way that she takes charge of her family with sassy wit or hate her for controlling those around her. Either way, her character makes the story way more interesting.

It's full of different languages and culture tidbits.

The author, Kevin Kwan, does a great job of incorporating languages, food, and customs from different cultures, giving the story more dimension while teaching you new facts about other cultures!

It's full of fabulous outfits, parties, and socialites.

I'm sure this isn't a surprise considering the book is titled "Crazy Rich Asians." The characters in this book are no strangers to a fabulous lifestyle filled with the most amazing designer clothes, lavish parties, and beautiful socialites. Reading this book makes it easier to see a glimpse of that lifestyle... and reminds me that no amount of money can ever be better than kindness to those around you!

Seriously, head to the nearest bookstore and see for yourself why it's a must-read!

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
