I donāt know about the lot of you, but I know that I hate reading a book while there is a lot of hype about it. Almost like looking at the bride as she walks down the aisle. Instead, I look at the groom. Not because I want to see if he looks scared or not, but because I always notice that shimmer of love and purity in his eyes. He doesnāt take his eyes away from the girl in the white dress--attached.
That is why I donāt read books while the hype is ongoing. Because if I do, it is like I am looking at the bride that is always stared at. She is the one who receives the most congratulations; the most present are meant for her, and she is the one that gets to spend literally thousands on her entire appearance. Sure, she is beautiful and very special, but he put up with bridezilla more than anyone. In most cases, he was the one who had to pull her away from her desk at 1 in the morning to come to bed so she could be up at 6 for work. He was the one that had to deal with the exuberant spending and mood swings because the flowers she wanted werenāt in season.
He is just as worthy to look at.
So, back to the books. If you read the book while everyone is actively expressing their opinions, they have a high chance of influencing you to continue the book, or leave it on your bookshelf to collect dust. They also have a high chance of hindering your true feelings of the book. Wait a while to read the books everyone else is reading, because you will have a better chance of liking it--or hating it--for your own reasons and not someone elseās.
Look at the groom, especially before you look at the bride.
