A Reaction To The Recent Gilmore Girls Revival Photos
Netflix

Recently, Entertainment Weekly released a photo shoot of the main Gilmore Girls revival cast in all of their unique glory. For the most part, everyone looks the same (including Paul Anka). Just like with every new Gilmore release, I had a strong reaction to each of these photos.

1. The Group is Back

From left to right: Luke and Jess look remarkably similar... not really surprising, though. Logan looks as distinguished as always. A coincidence that Dean is placed behind Paul Anka looking equally as floppy? I don't think so. Lane, just as beautifully quirky as ever. Lorelai just looks like she's causing trouble already. I would tackle Rory for those shoes right now. Emily, do you ever not look poised?

2. The Iconic Duo (Lorelai and Rory)

Honestly, is there a better mother/daughter duo anywhere? Granted, Rory looks slightly uncomfortable, but we've always loved her and her awkward behavior.

3. The Reigning Lorelai

From the polka dot mug to the flower ring to the perfectly messy, chic hair, this picture captures her personality perfectly.

4. Rory's All Grown Up

Does she ever look bad? I swear she doesn't even try; she just always looks flawless.

5+6. The Queen (Emily)

Talk about aging gracefully. Everything about her presence is still so commanding.

7+8. Chuppah Builder (Luke)

Okay, Scott. We see you. Age did you well. Still perfectly scruffy. And those eyes - so expressive.

9+10. The Puppy Dog (Dean)

A. Why do you have a girly mug? B. I know you're trying to look cute, but stop. You're still the least favorite.

11+12. Dodger (Jess)

Did you feel that? It was my heart stopping. Those eyes... that scruff... the lip thing! I'll even excuse the mustache for you, Milo because I love you that much.

13+14. Butt-faced Miscreant (Logan)

Ohh, Logan. I wish I didn't find you so damn charming. You're too perfect (just not for Rory).

15+16. Hip Korean (Lane)

Did she even age? The fact that she was over twenty when she played a sixteen-year-old is baffling, but the fact that she still looks the same? Mind = Blown.

17. Paw-fect (Paul Anka)

I would do anything to meet this weird little furball. Seriously. Gimme.

18. Personality Pic (Emily, Lorelai, Rory)

Emily looks regal as always with her nose in the air. Lorelai: happy... slightly mischievous. Rory: eating pie and looking up to the woman she admires the most.

19. And Group Again...

Is Amy trying to tell us something by having both Rory and Jess sitting down? Like great minds think alike and should therefore be together? Dean looks jealous as always. Emily looks confused as she often is by their antics.

20. The Gilmore Bunch

And the cover is just perfect... 'Nuff said.

A Few Thoughts Every College Freshman Has

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

College without friends is like peanut butter without jelly.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
