Finding out who we are and what type of person we want to be is one of the most important things we can do as a human being. What is it that will drive you through the day and into making a better tomorrow. What is one thing that no matter what you will always stand up for? Answering these types of questions is what gives a person a better sense of self. It allows them to acknowledge their strengths and weakness, what is truly important, and who they are at their core. Here's a list of a few questions that I've found to help me answer all of these about myself.
1. What is your biggest dream or goal? (Make a list or vision board where you list it and all the steps you can think about to achieve it and them place it somewhere you look each morning so you know what you are striving for.)
2. Why are these goals worth fighting for?
3. What is your biggest weakness/ biggest strength? (Be honest, that is how you grow!)
4. Rank the most important things in your life? (Money, family, friends, faith, your work, love)
5. What quality of yourself do you like the most, and how can you showcase that each day?
6. What is your biggest fear? Can you overcome it?
7. What can't you imagine living without?
8. What about life and the world inspires you?
9. If you could go back and change the biggest hardship of your life, would you? If so, how would you change it?
10. What is negative in your life? How can you weed it out daily?
11. What is it that you want to be remembered for? Are you showing that to those around you?
12. Are you happy with the direction your life is going? If not, how can you get it on the right path? What can you do to stay on that path?
13. What are you most proud about?
14. How can you meet you meet your insecurities, mistakes, and flaws with love and acceptance?
15. What do you wish you did more of?
All of these things will give you a better idea about what your purpose in life is and where your passions lie. If you don't know who you are at the core, how can you lead your most productive life. I was once told by a professor of mine named Dr. Pulleyking that to know what we want to do with our life means to find our true calling. What is it that the world needs and that you need? What is it that you have to do with your life no matter how crazy, how out-of-the-box, no matter everyone saying you shouldn't? Find that and pursue it with all that you have.
