Women are the flesh and bone of this world, surviving all of life's circumstances.

We as women despite race, despite our beliefs, despite our religion, despite anything and everything we are united. It's imperative that now more than ever before we need each other desperately side by side. The recent Brock Turner case that has just taken place proves that we as women have to keep fighting to have our voices heard.

Just to update everyone, Brock Turner is a Stanford University college male student who sexually assaulted a young unconscious woman. Turner raped the victim behind a dumpster unconsciously on the ground and now after a year of trials will only just be serving six months in jail or possibly only three months if he has good behavior.

It's situations like these that literally sicken not only my stomach but also the millions of young women not just in this nation but around the world. Rape is happening everywhere and unfortunately in some cultures of the world rape is considered a cultural norm.

It's honestly crazy, scary, and heartbreaking to know that we as women can't feel truly safe in this society. It's upsetting knowing that rapists can literally buy their way out of jail let alone sentencing just because they are privileged and have wealthy advocates to save them.

It's prevalent now more than ever that we as women can only save ourselves. We as women don't like to hear this but it's time to face the facts and we just truly have to protect ourselves more than at any other moment in this time. It's seriously not getting any easier and the fact that this Turner guy can practically get away with five counts of rape clearly shows the morals and ethics American society exemplifies upon women.

Cases of rape are getting tougher and more difficult to accurately depict and determine in the court of law. There is inevitably this underlying male domination that just sadly epitomizes the truth for invalid facts. Which is why I write this article to all women across this nation as a word of advice.

Be careful where ever you go no matter what even if it's in the daytime. When your at a party never take a drink from someone's hand get your own drink. Don't drink too much, limit yourself if you decide to go to a party. When you go to a party try to go with a group of friends this way your not by yourself. Carry pepper spray where ever you go it's better to be safe than sorry. Always have your keys in your hand when your in public walking from place to place they make a great weapon. Never walk alone at night and don't have a guy in your room unless you absolutely trust them 100%. Most of all, never ever get into a car with a guy you don't trust and remember about consent you are in charge of your own body.

These are the kinds of things we as women just have to constantly remind ourselves about every single day. I know we all want boys and men to be taught that they should not be rapists as they should most definitely be but the fact is that it can't be the only answer. The fact is right now at this moment we have to fess up and as women come together to protect one another in our society.

We can not risk our lives, have our innocence taken from us, let alone have our identity of who we embody ourselves to be shattered right in front of our very own eyes. It's time to have alternatives, it's time to rise up to defend our names, and it's most certainly our time as women to take matters into our own hands.

I ask each and every one of you reading this article to share your guidance and support to all of the women within your own lives. We need each other in all deep sincerity during this time because without it we can never succeed in achieving justice. Stay strong and remember that you as a woman are worth more than your weakness and that you are capable of exceeding all challenges in life.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
