Ranking The Marvel Movies Worst To Best

I know this list is not what some people may think, but I am just a girl who has enjoyed watching them and wants to share her thoughts about them.

Ranking The Marvel Movies Worst To Best

In This Article:

I am sure that many Marvel fans could give me a lot of hate for this, but I am simply stating my opinion because Marvel has been a big part of my life. I know this list will be long, and for some I probably won't even want to give an explanation because everyone would likely disagree with it. There are some of the movies that I have not seen in entirety, and it is because they are not as good in my eyes, and I cannot help but fall asleep in some of them. Without further ado, let us begin the ranking of all the Marvel movies, starting with the worst and building our way up.

23. The Incredible Hulk

I'm just gonna stick this movie at the end because I have never watched it, so don't really pay attention here, it's just a filler really.

22. Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange was okay to me. It was a lot to take in. This was one of the movies that I have not really seen in entirety, but I have seen enough to know that it is not one of my favorites. I like Doctor Strange as a character sometimes, but I just never really interacted with his movie. It never gauged my attention well, but maybe that's because I didn't give much time to it. I'll have to re-watch it soon, but for now, let's stick with number 22.

21. Iron Man 2

Starting off an Iron Man movie so low may be a little controversial, but I am sticking to it. I put this movie last because honestly, I really can't even remember what happens in it. It has been a while since I watched it, but I still probably wouldn't be able to tell you the plot if I watched it yesterday. It just never really caught my eye when I watched, and I was not very interested in the villain's character. It was all just very meh to me.

20. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

Again, I have not seen this movie in a while, but I just can't seem to remember much about it, and for that reason, it has to go low on the list. I am sure it's fantastic in its own way, but I am not a movie critic, so maybe don't listen to anything I have to say.

19. Captain Marvel

Captain Marvel was enjoyable. I did not hate it, but it was not a favorite of mine. I love watching powerful women get to be powerful women, and I am so glad that they have made more female Avengers. I loved all the characters in the movie, and I loved how they have brought some characters from this movie into more recent productions (cough, cough, WandaVision). I just really did not get to see the magic in this character, and it was not because of the actor. I love Brie Larson, but she was not given the right tools in order to make this character pop. She did what she could with what she was given, but there was not really any character development. She did not remember how to use her powers, then gets full control of them, but that is just about it. I wish there had been more to it and her character.

18. Ant-Man

I personally loved Ant-Man, but for the sake of this list, I put this movie and its sequel this low because being matched up against these other movies is not fair. Paul Rudd is hilarious, and Evangeline Lilly does great with him on screen. I found nothing wrong with these movies per say, but they just do not compare to the rest of the MCU.

17. Ant-Man and The Wasp

There is not much of an explanation here. It cannot compare to the others.

16. Guardians of the Galaxy

Guardians of the Galaxy was a breath of fresh air for Marvel fans. I personally loved the goofiness it brought to the screen. Chris Pratt is a comedic genius in any part he plays, so his character was obviously funny. I loved the banter between all the characters, especially if it had to do with Rocket or Groot. The plot was enjoyable, and it just felt like a fan favorite for me.

15. Thor: Dark World

I never really cared for the love interest between Thor and Jane, and this movie proves the point of the fact that you do not always need romance to spark a movie. What this movie did was create a brotherly love between Thor and Loki to make the crowd go crazy. Siblings love always creates a passion in the audience for a movie. Loki is the driving force for Thor and is the reason he stays motivated throughout the entire movie.

14. Spider-Man: Far From Home

Spider-Man is one of my favorite Avengers just because I think everyone is obsessed with Tom Holland. He is such a good and cute Spider-Man, and I think he portrays Peter Parker perfectly. This movie also takes place after Avengers: Endgame and is just what Marvel fans needed after that.

13. Iron Man 3

Iron Man 3 is just a good film that does not necessarily have anything to do with the rest of the Marvel universe. I put this movie so high just because it is a feel-good movie for me, and you can never go wrong with some Tony Stark.

12. Iron Man

Iron Man is the movie that kicks off everything. The reason it is not higher on the list is simply because I have other opinions, but Iron Man is still extremely important. This movie carries the whole entire MCU on its back because of how it starts everything. Iron Man has always been my favorite Avenger, and I think this movie is the best because of the investment we made in Tony Stark at the beginning of his journey, and just his alone.

11. Captain America: Civil War

Civil War is one of those movies that you hate that you love it just because all of your favorite characters are in it, but they're all fighting against each other. The whole debate of Team Iron Man or Team Captain America was always a fun conversation too. I just liked it a lot because all of the characters were able to get a chance to be in it.

10. Captain America: Winter Soldier

Bucky Barnes. That's really all I have to say about this movie.

9. Thor

Chris Hemsworth. Thor is the beginning of my love for the Avengers, I think. He plays the role incredibly well, and even though it could use some comedy, it's still a great movie. Natalie Portman does an okay job of playing Thor's love interest, but I was still always way more invested in the story about him, rather than the story about them.

8. Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming is all about creating a neighborhood friendly Spider-Man that was not there to scare people but help out citizens. There is a good scene about him getting stuck helping some grandmother across the street that let Tom Holland really show his personality in it. This movie was not pulled down by the tragedy of Peter's Uncle Ben, but more about a friendly film about a high schooler being a secret superhero.

7. Avengers: Age of Ultron

I enjoyed Age of Ultron just because of the introduction of Wanda and Pietro. It is not the best movie by far, but I enjoyed it simply because of all the action sequences involved in it.

6. Black Panther

Black Panther was incredible. I truly have no bad things to say about this movie. It was a very powerful movie with all the different characters and just the message within the movie. I loved Chadwick Boseman in the film as well, he did a phenomenal job as playing Black Panther.

5. Avengers: Infinity War

Infinity War was just a fun movie in my opinion. Every single character was able to be seen just because they wanted to bring everyone in on it. There was not much character development within this movie simply because it was focused on a lot of different characters, though it was fun to see them all interact with each other.

4. Avengers: Endgame

Endgame was the finale to the great series that is known as the Avengers. Of course, there will be some people that will disagree and say it was bad, but I went into the movie not expecting anything, and by doing that I loved every second of it. It was a great ending to a great series.

3. Captain America: The First Avenger

Captain America is put so high on this list because he is America's hero. He was the hero they needed and the hero that they received. Everything about this movie just makes me want to jump out of a window and try to get a scientist to inject me with whatever they hit him up with. It was so much fun to watch Chris Evans go from this scrawny wannabe military boy to a full-grown man that had the military begging him for his help.

2. The Avengers

The Avengers is my second favorite because it is a classic. The movie is so fun and fresh, and the characters are still new to the audience in some ways. The whole battle scene at the end was so incredible to watch, and I could watch it over and over again so many different times.

1. Thor: Ragnarok

I am putting this movie first because I love Thor, he is one of my favorite Avengers. I am also putting it first because the directors did such a fantastic job of finally letting Chris Hemsworth just let the audience know he can do something more than throw a hammer and be a god. He does such a great job with his comedy skills in this movie, and the audience got to see a friendship between him and Bruce Banner that we had not really gotten to see before. Loki is always a good character in any movie, so putting him in there was nice for me as well. Even though this movie does not represent the Avengers as a whole, I think it does a good job with showing some of the better aspects of Chris Hemsworth's Thor.

With these rankings, I hope someone will become inspired and go back and re-watch all the Marvel movies in order, because why not. It would take a while, but it would be fun. They're all incredible in their own way, and I love being a part of a fandom that loves its characters as much as the Marvel fans do.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
