Ranking The Halloween Movie Series
http://bloody-disgusting.com

With Halloween right around the corner, what's a better article than this? I cannot completely remember but this was one of the very first horror movies I watched at six or seven (I watched horror, not Disney!). I've always been a fan of this series as I pretty much enjoy almost all of them.

Ranking them the same way I ranked Friday the 13th, I'm going from the worst to best. Once more, this is my personal opinion on these movies and not like this is an official thing. This is just coming from a girl who has watched these movies more than once and for most of her lifetime. Oh and FYI, they are making another one with the talented Jamie Lee Curtis reprising her role as Laurie. Yes, we are all in for a treat.

Whether you decide to watch a marathon Halloween or before, have fun ranking them in the order you wish. Until then, let's let Mr. Michael Myers have his fun.

10) Halloween II (2009)

Sigh, where do I even begin with this movie? Fair warning, this movie is one of the worst horror movies I've ever seen. The only redeeming scene is a characters death which I am not spoiling. Fans have criticized Rob Zombie (Yes, the singer) for his movies and there is a good reason why. The movie picks up after his remake but there are so many loose ends that don't match the last. I'm telling you now that you are in for a ride and change if you haven't seen this...

9) Halloween (2007)

Surprise, I ranked Rob Zombie's Halloween series last. I myself hate these movies despite having a few moments that surprise. Instead of leaving Michael this mysterious creeper, we get almost an hour of his childhood and guess what? It's as typical as it gets. He's bullied, has a terrible home life, etc. I get it, stuff like that happens but why couldn't we have seen something different? Anyway, you can either love or hate this, the characters, even Michael himself considering he is much different as well.

8) Halloween Resurrection

I know this is a movie that everyone really hates in this series. I'm not going to say it's the best and I'm not going to say it is the worst. The use of technology developed and into this movie as it is now portrayed as a reality show. I know people are shocked and mad at the beginning sequence but hey,we all should have known it would happen at some point. I hate to say it but adding rapper Busta Rhymes into it was fun and I love his famous trick or treat line...Sue me.

7) Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers

So this movie has been titled the curse because the production was a disaster for this film. Now by the sixth film in any franchise, it usually doesn't become a miracle and the greatest in the series. While this has it's flaws, it really isn't that terrible. Michael to me in this is very scary considering that the man playing him is pretty built. The whole Cult of Thorn thingy is everyone's pet peeve because the entire time you're like what...

6) Halloween III

Everyone's favorite Halloween to complain about considering that it doesn't have Michael Myers in it. Boo hoo, this movie honestly isn't bad though I don't call it part of the series. Instead, we have an Irishman (Correct me if I'm wrong) making masks to kill children on Samhain. Come on, it came out in the 1980's so of course it has to be a little cheesy.

5) Halloween V: The Revenge of Michael Myers

A movie that people complain about yet I can't figured out the big disappointment. Jamie returns from the fourth (Read below) and once again is running away from her Uncle. Danielle Harris does a great job once again and I get that the man in black makes no sense but wait! We get all of our answers in the curse. So what makes this movie terrible? Can someone please let me know?

4) Halloween IV: The Return of Michael Myers

If I could have tied this with number three I really would have. I never tie anything so I decide to put four at four. I always have a soft spot for this because of little Jamie and her relationship with her foster sister Rachel. My sister is older than I and we are close, it really reminded me of us when I watch this. Moving on from my personal life, I feel this really captures the creepiness just like the original did. Besides that, Michael is trying to kill his niece who happens to be in elementary school. Talk about hating the holiday the rest of your life.

3) Halloween H2O

As I type this, I literally am watching this movie. I may be half way through but what are the odds right? I always loved this one and that is the obvious reason I ranked it to number three. Even though it ignored movies four through six, it really didn't have any loose ends like many were expecting. Everyone wanted a face off between brother and sister, we got it alright. The way they have everything makes sense is great and I watched this at least a couple times a year.

2) Halloween (1978)

Were you surprised when you saw the poster? Are you surprised that I'm ranking the very first movie to spot number two? I'm sure you are because people usually put the very first movie in spot one. I do love 1978's Halloween, don't get me wrong. The way Michael is lurking around used to creep me out when I was little especially the way he stalks the three girls. I personally just have to rank another one much higher.

1) Halloween II (1980)

Started from the top and now we're here. Halloween II bumps the original out of place and takes the spot in my heart. I swear to you that I watch this movie way too often and it's actually sad. With the movie picking right up from the first and ending up in a hospital, there is something about it that I just love. I wouldn't want to be in a hospital at night with a deranged killer stalking the halls for me.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
