Recently, one of my friends sent me a bracket pitting the Jonas Brothers' songs against one another. This bracket inspired me to embrace my inner 10 year old and rank my top 10 favorite Jonas Brothers' songs. So, here we go...
Honorable Mention: Video Girl
"O.M.G. Did you hear I'm dating a Jonas Brother? It's soooooo hot." That is all.
10. Hey Baby/World War III
Just two great songs. Crazy productions!
9. Play My Music
To be completely honest, Camp Rock is part of why I'm where I am today. "Play My Music" completely encompassed the feelings about music I didn't realize I had.
8. BB Good
It's just a fun song. And I love Joe's voice when he sings "baby" at the end of the chorus.
7. S.O.S.
With a line like "Next time I see you, I'm giving you a high five because hugs are overrated, just FYI" how could this one not be on the list?
6. Poison Ivy
Just a great song. It's also the closest the Disney branded JoBros got to saying bitch, which I thought was rebellious and kinda hot.
5. Black Keys/Turn Right
Both, the slower songs on the album. Both, equally great in musicianship and lyricism.
4. When You Look Me in the Eyes
As a young child, this was the romance song of the century. I have never really been one to fantasize about my wedding, except for the music. The only wedding fantasizing I've ever done is about the playlist. The first dance would be to, of course, this beautiful ballad.
3. Before the Storm (feat. Miley Cyrus)
I saw the Jonas Brothers at the new Dallas Cowboys stadium back in the day. It was the best moment of my 10 year old life. When Miley Cyrus came out in the haze to sing this song with Nick, I about lost it. The stadium, filled primarily with gals my age, erupted in a shrill fangirl scream. It is a moment that is vividly imprinted into my brain. So, yeah, that song is up there.
2. Burnin' Up
A classic. There was a time when Disney Channel aired this music video almost every commercial break. I'm not complaining about it. I loved seeing the bros any chance I could get. And this song is...fire lol.
1. Lovebug/Paranoid
I genuinely cannot decide between these two bops. Lovebug, like every other girl my age, has a special place in my heart. But when Paranoid came out, I bumped it on repeat (still do). I love jamming to both of them.
Turns out my top ten is actually a top fourteen. To be honest, Lines, Vines, and Trying Times and A Little Bit Longer both are an incredible selection of songs from young, talented musicians. There are few songs I dislike from the Jonas Brothers, these are just the top fourteen prominent ones in my mind.
