Batman is like the James Bond of superheroes when it comes to the amount of actors portraying him. Let's rank them from worst to best.
8. George Clooney
Bat-nipples, Bat-credit cards and constant head bobbing. Need I say more?
7. Val Klimer
Probably the most boring Batman ever. He may have been in a very mixed bag Batman movie, but it feels as if he put zero effort into the role.
6. Christian Bale
Some will find this shocking and some will call me a hipster for ranking him so low. However, that goddamn voice is so damn cartoonish and awful that it really does stop his Batman from being intimidating. It just makes him comical.
5. Ben Affleck
If his Batman was in a remotely good Batman movie, he would be higher up on this list. Regardless of how his character is written, he gave his all to the role and really brought the character to life.
4. Kevin Conroy
This is where the list gets tricky. I think Kevin Conroy is a great Batman and his voice adds so much to character. This is probably the most true to the comics. However, I think Mark Hamill's Joker outshines him a great deal and elevates him. I can't put Mark Hamill on this list, but Conroy gets a slot.
3. Will Arnett
As good as Kevin Conroy is, I think Will Arnett has the definitive Batman voice. He perfectly encapsulates the humor and absurdity of Adam West and the super serious demeanor of Ben Affleck. You get a nice blend. Just a barrel of fun.
2. Adam West
Kevin Conroy encapsulated the late 80's version of Batman in the comics. Adam West was the comic version of Batman in the Golden Age of Comics. His performance is leaps and bounds the most faithful to what the character was originally and deserves some credit for that. Not to mention the dancing.
1. Michael Keaton
The most intimidating version of Batman ever....Period!
