Ranking Auburn's 2016 Schedule

There are a lot of tough games on here.

First thing: this is not a prediction of how Auburn's season will go. I don't like to predict or make projections on my teams because I'm scared it'll jinx something, so I repeat again: this is not a prediction. This is simply a ranking of the schedule from the easier ones to the harder ones. This ranking would be basically the same no matter which team was playing this schedule. That said, here it is.

12. Alabama A&M Bulldogs - Home on November 19th.

11. ULM Warhawks - Home (HC) on October 1st.

10. Arkansas State Red Wolves - Home on September 10th.

These first three are "cupcakes," so they were clearly the bottom ("easiest") three, but the order was somewhat random.

9. Vanderbilt Commodores - Home on November 5th.

8. Arkansas Razorbacks - Home on October 22nd.

They lost a lot of talent this last offseason, and it's a home game coming off of a bye.

7. Mississippi State Bulldogs - Away on October 8th.

Also lost a lot of talent (most importantly Dak Prescott), but it's an away game with those dang cowbells.

6. Texas A&M Aggies - Home on September 17th.

A&M could be a pretty good team, but it is a home game so that drops it on this ranking.

5. #11 Ole Miss Rebels - Away on October 29th.

They lost some studs on offense and defense, but still have Chad Kelly.

4. #2 Clemson Tigers - Home on September 3rd.

I know, the second-ranked team in the country only at number 4? But listen, they are a great team, but this is a home opener, at night, with the whole pre-season to prepare. That gives more advantages than some of the other games.

3. #18 Georgia Bulldogs - Away on November 12th.

Yes, I have them ahead of two higher ranked teams and here's why. 1.) Ole Miss lost a LOT of their best players, and it's harder to play in Athens (in my opinion). 2.) There is no benefit of extended preparation (as with Clemson) and again, it's an away game.

2. #5 LSU Tigers - Home on September 24th.

I know they are lower ranked than Clemson and it's also a home game, but their bruising style is punishing after having faced an SEC opponent the week before (A&M) and there isn't as much preparation.

1. #1 Alabama Crimson Tide - Away on November 26th.

EASLY number one hardest game on the schedule. It would be the hardest game on anyone's schedule, and we get a double reasoning as the Iron Bowl would be number one even if both teams were unranked.

Clearly home field means something, and it means a lot in the SEC. That, along with preparation and opponent, determined the order of these rankings. Again, not a prediction, but there are a lot of tough games on here. Still, who knows what will happen?

A Few Thoughts Every College Freshman Has

The transition into adulthood is never easy

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies. Here is a few signs that you may live in the library, whether you'd like to admit it or not.
