I have never been on a date, but I do know what would be fun. As you prepare for a date, you may find yourself at a loss of what to do. You aren't sure if they'll enjoy it, you may not enjoy it, or it may be your first date with them. While there are many things to do on a date, some ideas aren't so great. For example, if you want to ask someone out, do not suggest 'Netflix and chill'. If you aren't sure what to do for your date, here are some fun ideas:
1. Play with puppies.
If you two like animals, make your way to your local animal shelter. Play with some puppies, or kittens, and have a great time. There's nothing better than being surrounded by cute animals.
2. Take a pottery class.
Get a little dirty, and take a pottery class together. Even if neither of you can make something 'pretty', you're spending time together in a creative way. Who knows, you might even fall in love with ceramics.
3. Tour a nearby city.
Pick a nearby city that neither of you have been to. Drive, or walk, there, and explore. You can tour the buildings, and see if they have any historic landmarks. Learn something new about the city as you learn new things about your date.
4. Do paintball.
Grab and gun, and shoot each other. With paint balls. It's a fun and crazy way to have a date. You may even end up like Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger did in "10 Things I Hate About You": snogging.
5. Have a movie marathon.
Pick a movies series and go to town. Just because it's a date doesn't mean you have to go to a public place. Put a movie in the DVD player, make some popcorn, and enjoy each other's company. (The Harry Potter series is a perfect example). (Seriously, watch Harry Potter). (Or Disney movies).
6. Watch the stars.
Lay a blanket in the grass, and look up at the stars. You can guess the constellations, and make up your own. While other people are at clubs, you're enjoying the beauty that God bestowed upon the earth while spending time with your special someone.
7. Play board games.
Pull out the monopoly, and have some fun. You can pick a board game, or card game, and see how competitive your date can get. Just don't flip the table.
8. Go to a museum.
Find a nearby museum, and take a tour. It's nice to learn about the past while holding hands with someone you care about. This gives you the opportunity to learn what your partner enjoys, or what they don't.
9. Play on the playground.
Swing on the swings and dangle from the monkey bars. Let your inner kid out. Play on the playground and see if your date knows how to have fun. You can even make it competitive, and see who can hold onto the monkey bars longer.
10. Walk around a bookstore.
Bookstores are wonderful. It doesn't even have to be a 'new' book bookstore. Find a used bookstore, and explore. You can find out what kind of books your partner likes, and find out what you have in common. This also makes buying gifts a lot easier because you already know what books they're interested in.
While these are not 'common' date ideas, they would still be fun to do. If you and your partner are looking for something fun to do, get creative. There is no particular way to have a date. If you both like doing random things, then have a random date. If you're both fans of something, plan a date that coincides with that. Have dates that interest both of you.
