As most millennial Republicans, I'm tired of hearing "you're only Republican because your parents are." Maybe that's true, maybe it's not. But if it is, then I guess I was just raised right. So for all of you saying my parents raised me Republican, then here's how...
My parents:
1. Taught me to work hard to achieve my dreams
2. Taught me to respect every life
3. Taught me to stick up for myself, and if someone did something to me that they shouldn't have, to make it right
Which led me to later in life having these values that made me decide (on my own free will) to be Republican by believing in:
1. Capitalism, and not believing in handouts. And yes, I also believe taxation without representation is theft.
2. Pro-Life, to respect every human life
3. War is necessary sometimes, especially when terrorists attack our nation
So yes, maybe I am Republican because of views I was raised on... But no, I am not voting for who my parents vote for, we don't agree on every aspect of being Republican, and no they certainly did not force me to be a Republican.
